Is the Smoque Shack the place to go for Ottawa BBQ?

He was also in the original' date=' British version of "Death at a Funeral". Hilariously funny flick.[/quote']
saw this a few months before Game of Thrones - he is absolutely golden in that movie - great movie, it goes zero-to-overboard real quick...
Oddly, he plays the same role in the American remake.

Sad news. I loved how Morgan smoothly took over for MacLean Stevenson on Mash, which was no easy task.
I'm a big fan of westerns and Morgan was in two of the best, The Ox-Bow Incident and High Noon. I urge you to see both, but particularly the former. It remains a disturbing psychological masterpiece.
Wow, I didn't know he was in the Ox Bow Incident, I agree that is an awesome movie.
-
Wow- I immediately thought 'Glory of Love' as well..
but I prefer the Peter Cetera version
GET! OUT!

As a visiting historian said at a school assembly after they stopped giving students the day off, "It's best that Remembrance Day be commemorated in the schools and not in the arcades."

Well, hopefully there will be a bit of a gap between the end of this series and the start of the next one, to give me a chance to assimilate the mountain of past vault releases.
Also give me more time to work on the mini-project I've just started working on : arranging and listening to all of the vault releases in chronological order.

I've finished listening to this. So, um .... now what do I do with my life?

Their first 2 albums are awesome. Can't vouch for the other 87 though.

Does he live by the river?

Grateful Dead - Europe ‘72: The Complete Recordings
1972-05-07 (Sun)
Bickershaw Festival - Wigan, Lancashire, England
The band’s first outdoor gig of the tour at the Bickershaw Festival in Wigan, where they played one of the longest shows of the tour. This was the only show on the tour that featured both a “Dark Star†and an “Other One,†and just about everything else you could hope they’d play.

Quite alright. Any Clash is good Clash.
One of those things that I loved at the time, but somehow just gets better as I get older.
-
I have 72-04-08 (London) going right now. So good.
Isn't it, though? That Dark Star is a brain melter (something I anticipate typing a lot in the immediate future). They are just ferocious on this tour ... I've got 72-4-11 (Newcastle) going right now, punchy set so far.

What I've got to alternate with the Dead is the Clash boxed set that came in around the same time. In the immortal words of Andy Dwyer' date=' "Weirdly delicious."[/quote']
There's a new Clash boxed set?
I just did a quick internet search and didn't find anything (admittedly, it's 12:40AM and I'm mildly drunk) new-ish.
Please explain yourself, sir.
Nah, sorry, it's the old Clash On Broadway boxed set. I had it back in the day on cassette, got the whim recently to order a second hand copy of it on CD and it came in around the same time as Europe 72. Sorry for the confusion.

Not much to add at this point except, God damn, my ears are burning. I was a bit worried getting this that there might be overload and i wouldn't be able to absorb it all, but a few shows in and my jaw is still firmly on the floor.

2. The disks are in there WAY too tight. So tight in fact I ripped the front cover of 4/26 and I was being careful. It's ridiculous how tight. And the paper on the digi packs seems too fragile. This was a pisser as it was the first one I tried removing. Email already sent to Rhino for a replacement.
Pinch, don't pull.

Yeah, I just got word from Fiona that it came in and the customs was only $30. Too bizarre .
-
Just checked my tracking number, it just finished clearing customs, they sat on it for a week, hopefully it will be here in the next couple days.
-
Safe arrival of my numbered trunk in Hamilton today! Woo-hoo!
Awesome! Hopefully mine will not be much longer. How much did you get clipped by customs?
-
Is that the Tivoli show that was broadcast on TV? There is really good footage from that out there (the one where the boys whear the clown/bozo masks on stage)
I don't think so, I think I have that footage on a boot DVD and I don't believe it is the same footage. Then again, it has been a while since I have watched that disc.
-
Peripheral question : On the Anthem To Beauty documentary, there is video footage of the Dead playing Truckin', you can see Pigpen in the footage but I distinctly hear piano in the mix, which would put it around this time. Anyone know specifically where this footage came from?

I woke up a few minutes ago to find a "Your item was shipped on Sept. 1" notice in my inbox. Still no charge on my credit card' date=' though. Tracking info says it has already cleared customs, too - so it should arrive before the weekend!!![/quote']
Same here, fingers crossed I see it soon. PS . there is apparently 30 seconds missing from one version of Big Boss Man on one show ... try not to freak out like somebody in the contents section on dead.net .
I'll try to control myself.
I actually remember reading an interview with David Lemieux in which he mentioned that those 30 seconds were pretty much the only portion of music that wasn't covered by one of several recording sources.
I know, that's why I was mildly bemused when I saw someone freaking out about it.
-
If I don't come out of this with the lyrics to Mr. Charlie memorized, I'll kick myself, because I will certainly have enough opportunities to learn them.

Smoking ban coming to Bluesfest?

Just curious, how many of the people in the thread who are against the smoking ban are, in fact, non-smokers?
