Free soap rocks. Last year aboard a cruise they had free soap by Coach. It smelled like English Leather.

Hey Skanks! As a group, we tend to travel a fair bit so I would like to hear about some of your favourite hotels. It can be straight luxury, interesting local (I was thinking about Heather and Todd's stay in the underwater hotel when I started this thread), historic venue or anything that made it remarkable. I have a few to start things rolling. Hotel Sax in Chicago is in a great location, very boutique (meaning small rooms but funky) and an awesome location complete with a bowling alley, club (great house djs) and right next to the House of Blues). Epic in Miami lived up to it's name. Sweet roof top infinity pool with bar, very cool club downstairs and pretty much straight luxury all the way through. We are taking a trip to Europe at the end of the week and I was checking out Aqua Palace where we will be staying in Venice. Very cool in that you need to access it by boat- but that is probably true of most hotels in Venice. So, where are your favourite spots to stay when traveling?

Yes Ollie! I found it at the Summerhill Lcbo in Toronto (one of the biggest lcbos). Back to the Spearhead...it was tasty but not everything I had hoped, especially considering the price. Shane had a bunch of super tasty home brews on the weekend that outshone every one of the commercial brews! We had a pretty serious selection of brews at the party! Thanks Shane!

I was lucky enough to try some of the Spearhead today. I was at a customer's place (Victory Cafe) and he has it on tap. I mentioned that I had a 20L at home but hadn't tried it so he was kind enough to pour me a pint. Not bad but not my favourite. It has a touch of pineapple- very slight taste.

We went to Navarra last Friday and were blown away by the food. One of the better meals I have had recently. Young chef with an amazingly subtle hand with the Spanish influenced spices. The service left a lot to be desired but it was damn tasty. It wasn't cheap, but it was good. I highly recommend checking it out next time you want a nice place to go in the market.

I just cracked a can of Red Racer IPA and I'm loving it! Great IPA. It's from BC and it's pretty expensive (almost $3.00 for a reg sized can) but, damn, it's tasty! I only bought one and wish I bought more! I have found most of Ontario IPAs to be kind of bitter- I think it is the malts used. But this Red Racer has a lot of the brighter flavours I search out in the American IPAs.

That was a neat movie. Kinda cool to see them developing all those crazy ideas.

So, no discussion so far. what's everyone thinking? I've listened to bits and pieces so far. That Rock'n'Roll from night 1 at the Gorge is pretty damn nuts! Very psychedelic. Second Set from night 2 from the Gorge is very groovy. That would have been a dance party. I'm looking forward to giving these shows a more serious listen soon.
