Last season of 24 unequivocally BLEW! I've read that the the folks behind 24 are well aware of how badly last season sucked and are working feverishly to ensure this season redeems the series.

I did that with the Sopranos. I didn't start watching until the 4 or 5th season...and I watched all the seasons on DVD over the course of 2 or 3 weeks. All I'd dream about were Sopranos characters. I'd be in the shower (in real life) and I have a little panic attack and think, "Omigod! I'm missing The Sopranos!!" then I'd remember that I had them on DVD. Then I'd realize I had a problem. Woke up this morning, got myself a gun...

Details! Nothing salacious...just the way women are treated there is pretty apalling. She got arrested once for something completely ludicrous...something she said or something she was wearing...her boyfriend was with her, so she didn't end up spending a bunch of time in jail. Evidently, if he hadn't been with her, she would have been completely out of luck, even though she hadn't really done anything wrong.

I have a friend that lives in Dubai...she's been there a few years...the stories she tells about living in that society are truly frightening. Which has nothing to do with the topic of this thread, just thought I'd mention it.
