  1. We are actually getting better value for our money than the US folk since we read the words and they just check out the pictures... generally speaking.
  2. I've never heard any comedian speak anything but bad about Dane Cook. I've heard many speak bad of him and his 'jokes'.
  3. I've never heard of latte art; pretty wild. 1 vote - guitar. I liked it best.
  4. Sweet! I'll take a maybe... thanks for getting my hopes up, kookookany!
  5. Since we're on the subject... here's a neat little song that a buddy's brother put together. Simon Pole - Mr. Emery
  6. ANyone see the show in TO last night? Hughs' Room. I would love to make it to the show tonight but cannot. Anyone in the area should check out the London show. Singer songwriter type, John Prine style kind of. Real nice.
  7. Here a few photos... looking forward to yours stu dog!

  9. What a night! Thanks Diesel Dog and all the partiers who showed up! The 100 or so people who made it out were all super folk. It was awesome. Sorry for the bunk directions that had Diesel Doug and Danin' Man driving half way to London! Great pics, Birdy! Thanks for sharing and big thanks for your help with the party. Those photos were obviously taken BEFORE my speed wobble face plant into the gravel incident. If that wasn't the low point in my night then the second time I did it definitely was! I wasn't even showing off or anything.. just walking along, trying to behave. I took some photos too and will put them up tonight. There were lots of highlights! Tigger and Becky, what a great surprise to hear that you were coming and even greater not surprise when you showed up! Looking forward to doing it again! Next time we'll have to actually try it inside the barn!

  11. Looks like a good show! Wish I could make it. Hamilton's great for live music!
  12. I was addicted to mosh pits and crowd surfing! I'm glad I grew out of it.. I would have been confined to a wheelchair by now. The worst was Nirvana in '93. I could not believe how rough it was! Most intense mosh pit I've been in, by far! Kurt only fueled theh insanity with his angry, miserable stage presence. Like StnMtn said, big army boots in the head don't tickle! The only relief was to actually crowd surf or get the hell out of there altogether! After maybe half an hour I bailed outta there, albeit with a bloody nose and I think a mild concusion. Not fun on acid. I would really like to hear a follow up on the Smashing Pumpkins guy and find out what the actual cause of his death was. I have a feeling moshing had nothing to do with it.
  13. Just a couple more days! I emailed some people with directions.. the E's (east) should have been W's (west) Here they are again, correctly. I also added L's and R's: Directions: 3rd Line - Chatham, ON (between Dillon and Drake.. north of Hwy #2 btwn Chatham and Tilbury) 401 N (L) Bloomfield Rd. Exit (~3km) W (L) Queens Line (Hwy #2) (~3.5km) N ® Dillion Rd. (over tracks, before next set of tracks) W (L) 3rd Line look for parking on N ® side of road - 2.5 km up Taylor's place is on the right, before the tracks. There is a set of rr tracks just past Taylor's Be careful! STOP AT TRACKS!! There are no wig wags or anything and the tracks are relatively busy, hosting both CN and VIA Rail. These tracks shouldn't come into play if you follow the directions and there is ample parking before Taylor's place. Here's a lovely photo I took when I was out at Taylor's on the weekend:
  14. Try some shooglenifty on for size! "mixing elements of Scottish traditional acoustic, dance/trance and world music." I have their '94 and '96 album. The '96 sounds more 'modern' and more like St. Germaine.. I can only imagine their later releases to vear more in the direction. Grab one of their newer albums and see what you think! I don't think you will be disappointed. http://www.shoogle.com/ Shooglenifty are are from Scotland and I was sad to miss them play by only one week when I went there this time last year. For those in the east, go see Shooglenifty this October! Canada 6th - Wagmatcook Culture and Heritage Centre, Wagmatcook, Nova Scotia 7th - Sydney Marine Terminal, Sydney, Nova Scotia;

  16. I wathced Mr. Books and liked it. I think it is pretty recent. Kevin Costner but still good.
  17. Yes, the land is severed. I asked Splendors about it and he had some info. It is not registered as a Heritage site or anything like that. Splendors' great grandpa donated the land to the community way back in the day, for the purpose of building a school on, and his mom actually went to school there. The community owns it to this day. So yeah, should be pretty cheap to snag up!
  18. Man, I would just love to check this show out! What a lineup! Psychedelic noisey goodness!! Boo to weddings on long weekends! Hope to see more of this, kc! Nice job. And yeah, the subject was too long to post a reply..
