  1. Yeah, eff facebook too.. I mean, I'll porbably join at some point for networking/ promo purposes maybe but here's something... Buddy from TO was in town this past weekend.. his band and some cool street percussion type players were playing at the schoolhouse in Chatham.. I didn't find out until it was too late to go. Would have really liked to. Talked to him the next day and said, hey, you gotta let me know a bit in advance. His response, "you gotta get on facebook." I see it as a easy way out of actually contacting people and letting them know about things. "Op, well, I facebook invited all of my 'friends', I gues I'm all done hyping the show!" Pfft.
  2. I'd go if it was on a weekend. * Oh, your poor van!! *
  3. I would say it not widely associated and is a pretty accurate representation of the artist's overall sound. I could be wrong though. #254: But that's not what they sound like: Songs widely associated with a given artist that aren't an accurate representation of the artist's overall sound. 1. Blind Melon - No Rain 2. White Stripes - Little Ghost 3. Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy 4. The Gourds - Gin & Juice 5. The Grateful Dead - Touch Of Grey 6. Stevie Wonder - I just called to say I love you 7. Genesis - I Can't Dance 8. Frank Zappa - Joe's Garage 9. Phish - Free 10. Los Lobos- La Bamba 11. Pink Floyd - Money 12. I went ahead and took off Hot dog since we all seemed to agree on that. (plus I didn't want to pick the next album topic.) Sorry Boiler Rat!
  4. Who would really think 'oh yeah, zeppelin, they do that song called hot dog.'
  5. Happy birthday Davey Boy! I told myself last night that I was not going to drink today but since finding out that it is your birthday I've changed my tune. Have a nice day!
  6. Congratulations guys. Mom and baby both look beautiful!
  7. you've changed. Liking this thread. It's great how everyone remembers just what they were up to during the blackout. I have no idea what I was up to three years ago though.
  8. I was on the Deer Run golf course near Chatham with my Dad. Of course did not realize the power had been out until we strolled up to the course club at about night fall... that's when we got the news that the lights were out all over the place. Headed into town, picked up stu dog and went to my/ my folks' place, hooked up the generator to the fridge then got drunk with stu dog to candle light while listening to tapes on a battery powered ghetto blaster. It was great! I am all for having a fews summer days every year set aside for a blackout.
  9. Oh geez, I can't imagine how loud it must have been for the people down the road in the direction the speakers were actually facing! Someone literally pulled the plug at about 4 am, leaving us in nearly total darkness. I took that as a hint to pack up my gear and hit the road..
  10. hehe.. yeah, like two tears from each eye.. I think though there was some sort of imbalance going on from partying the night before! Plus I think I might have jammed in a quick thought of my old dead dog right around then too. Is Mark Goodson dead? Now there's a game show genius!
  11. Congratulations guys! It was an amazing time and now you guys are buzzing on a beach in Jamaica!! Woo hoo! Seriously?? I'm not really surprised.. that music was blaring until 4 am! Where were you? You should have swung on by.
  12. haha.. that's right. I like Wheel fo Fortune too. It was cool back in the day when they would get to go shopping for a bit after each puzzle was solved. That music was intoxicating. I was drunk when I was posting last night. Cliffhanger is intense!
  13. I was driving in my car today and cried some upon hearing the news of Merv's passing. The founder of my two favourite shows is gone... although I know nothing about the man, it touched me because Jeopardy! and TPIR are really tops in the gameshow world and continue to enhance my life as they have for years. From the comforting cool technicolour bedazzlement TPIR provided when I was a toddler when my mom would leave me with gramps for the day to the times I spent, and still do now and then, with my dad throwing out wacky questions to the answers Jeopardy! offered as we sipped some aft-sup cocktails.. Merv. Jennings' run was something wasn't it?! I would always make it a true Daily Double *bwhew bhew bhew bhew!* as I played along. I could, from an early age, recite the mail in address for tickets to TPIR.. 90036 is my favourite number from now forth. I'm really looking forward to the Drew Carey TPIR era. I hope for 'Cliffhanger' to become more of a staple challenge a la 'Plinko'. Everyone goes nuts for that one! Rightfully so... just that sound of the chip meandering down makes the "sick day" work week hour times well wasted; no regrets.(As I see the yodelling of 'Cliffhanger' doing if given the proper chance.) Rset in peace Merv Griffin and thank you for provided years of knowledge, shimmering sets and feeling of envy of countless lucky contestants! Wow, it's been a marathon of a day.
  14. fuck ya... what's it take to get me out in dreadful TO on a work night when there is no posible way I'll make it to work in the am... Tea Leaf effin Greeeeeen! Where's the pre/ after party/ ...
