LJFH
how simple/hard is your return?
Asparagus
I like and, if I do say so myself, am good with numbers. However, I don't want to do your taxes.
bradm
IIRC, if you have someone prepare your return and get paid for it, you have to list that somewhere on your return. In a pinch, and if your return's simple, you might want to try (or at least check the rates of) H&R Block. Don't get them to give you advance on your refund, but they do an adequate job on simple returns*.Aloha, Brad* My father (who used to do the family [his, Mom's, mine, my brother's, grandparents'] taxes) took their return prep course, as did a friend of his (who ended up working at Block). Other than that, I have no experience or affiliation with them. YMMV. Caveat Emptor.
Asparagus
Dude, I'll help you before you drop money at H&R Block. Your's can't be much more difficult than mine. What's with the banner up top? It's nice and all, but when it's on the screen my computer sends me the 'I'm going to crash soon' vibe.
rubberdinghy
Mine is very simple...I am just really lazy! Just not looking forward to it...I still have to do a 2000 return and the Sanctuary is a good place for procrastinating...
bouche
I'm just using quicktax and e-filing it. that's very easy to do.
Ms.Huxtable
You know how I did mine this year? I went to the Revenue and Customs website and they have SIMPLE online submission forms. It cost me $12.00 to get a return of $650.00! Easy as pie!Good luck to you. May the tax Gods smile your way.
rubberdinghy
True...I do not want to pay anyone, or quicktax online to do my taxes knowing that I have to pay 4 digits to the gov't!12 bucks ain't that bad.You have to pay for quicktaxweb.ca doncha? bouche
Quick tax was 30 bucks. You can file 5 returns with it. So you can split it 5 ways.30/5=6 bucks!E-filing from there is free as far as I know.I'm doing mine, h is doing hers, and that leaves 3 returns that can be done with it after....I guess.I don't know how it keeps track of the usage count. If it's not phoning home with the internet, then it would be unlimited.
