SevenSeasJim
I love stories like that. It amazes me how a human brain can be so different from others.
bouche
I've had many waking dreams or mid-slumbers where I hear a perfect symphony. However, I'm too tired to do anythign about it. By the time the morning comes, it's all forgotten. Billy Joel wrote most of his music from waking dream states. He would force himself out of bed, or just keep a recording device and pad of paper by his bed to hum a melody into and write some notes down. This kid sounds like this is happening to him in the waking state naturally, and the only way for him to stay sane is to utilize the stream. It is very frikken amazing indeed. Esau
This was on 60 minutes last night, although I didn't watch it, I heard the kid can turn the sheet music upside down and play it backwards.
CyberHippie
Very crazy! sh!t like that really makes you think about things. I don't really know what I believe, but you could definitley make a case for reincarnation here, or something equally as cosmic. I mean, how could a little kid know what cello is, and be able to start playing on at a music store. Very strange!
AdamH
I can imagine Christie Brinkley freaking out while Billy rolled back and forth in bed screaming "We didn't start the fire!"
Booche
"I heard the kid can turn the sheet music upside down and play it backwards." Oh man, that freaked me out last night............ It was a Beethoven piece.
bouche
read the article. He inverted the music by switching the melodies in the treble and bass cleffs, THEN he flipped it backwards. Essentially it was a mirror image of the piece. That would be very cool to hear. bokonon
i heard that if you play the traditional tune on a carousel backwards it turns in to the traditional funeral march. i think this was in a ray bradbury book but i'm not sure, it's been a long time since i've read bradbury. is this true?
