Calamity Jane
seeking advice on what y'all consider the best health food store in the area, taking into consideration price & selection.Specifically, I'm currently looking to buy organic seeds to sprout at home (and possibly a sprouter). KaytebrACEletrock just turned us on to this and we're about to eat our first yummy batch!I've already sussed out my tofu connection...Chinatown here has the same stuff I bought in TO and at about the same price, actually. But now I need my heady hook-up for organic quinoa, spelt flour, etc.
arcane
Rainbow Foods, Richmond and Carling, near Lincoln Fields.
bradm
http://www.rainbowfoods.net/ is located near me, in the Britannia / Lincoln Fields area. I've shopped there a few times, and know they have a really wide variety of products (based on all the different stuff on the shelves, almost none of which I'd seen before), but I'm not an expert on such things. I remember seeing breads made with spelt, though.Aloha,Brad

bouche
when you're in hull, there is one not far from here on St.Joseph. Also, the market right now may be a good place to look.
Guitarchitect
I remember there being a really good place on bank st., somewhere around fourth ave./st., that had a ton of organic stuff... but I can't remember the name of it, as that was a year and a half ago... maybe that helps, but probably not, hehe! traveler
Every Sat. we have organic growers gather at the Waldorf school at Bank & Heron.(Behind Crappy Tire). They have produce, eggs, bread etc. Get there early. Stuff thins out to potatoes and carrots during the colder months. Good place to meet growers.
