badams
I am predicting by my 2000th post that the Habs are in a home playoff spot.

peipunk
Glorious. Imagine if Higgins would have scored 2 short-handed goals on one shift?
Guest Low Roller
I watched the first period last night. *sniff* it was beautiful man!Thank god for pirate internet broadcasts. On an unrelated note, here is a great article on prospects in the Habs farm system. dave-O
Last night was all about the Sens' weak PP and the Habs' strong PK through the first two periods.Christopher Higgins appears to be the real deal.
Guest Low Roller
The Bell Centre will explode when Latendresse gets his first point.
Booche
The best part of that game was envisioning Rubber Dinghy watching it at home and cursing my name.
Kanada Kev
it's very very quiet ... I'm waiting to hear about why it was bad calls, or Montreal being "lucky" as to the win, from some Sens fans. I didn't get to watch the game. Was it a good one? Booche
KK?I think we judged you too quickly. Kanada Kev
I just watched some of the replays on nhl.com:http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?date=10%2F31%2F2006&page=Scoreboard&service=pageNice SH goal ... and the Samsonov/Kovalev pairing is a treat to watch.Gotta say Alfie sticks out like a sore thumb on the scoresheet ... -4 gets 3 shots on net in almost 24mins of ice time!!! Ouch.
dave-O
Kev did inadvertently raise one point - there were a ton of chintzy calls last night on both sides, a steady parade to the penalty box. I think the Sens should start declining their PP opportunities.
Kanada Kev
a steady parade to the penalty box. When a game is constantly in a powerplay mode it completely kills the flow of the game. Obviously, it is warranted sometimes. However, when it is due to a shitty ref team than it really gets maddening. There's nothing like watching 10mins of continuous play without a whistle! Guest Low Roller
With Higgins out for tonight's game, Guillaume Latendresse is stepping up to the first line to fill his shoes. I think it's a pretty risky move by Carbonneau and Gainey, who might be getting desperate for Latendresse to start producing.I guess they'll also be calling back up Maxim Lapierre, unless Aaron Downey is able to play. dave-O
TSN is reporting that Higgins is gone for 6 weeks. Tough break.

Guest Low Roller
Yee-ouch! I hope that TSN is wrong... Basically Latendresse has to STEP UP now.I guess that makes room for either Kostitsyn or Lapierre in the line-up.
Booche
He doesnt have to step up now. He's a fucking rookie. The coaches arent losing patience with him either, unless they are screwed in the head. He has a great opportunity right for ice-time right now, nothing more nothing less. dave-O
The Bell Centre will explode when Latendresse gets his first point. And they sure did. The crowd realized who had scored even though the ref didn't. (I saw Drummondville play in the Q last night and they looked pretty weak without their top 2 offensive guys - Latendresse and Derek Brassard.) Shouldn't both Downey and Komisarek have been tossed for lack of tie-downs last night?
Guest Low Roller
Komisarek fought blinded and still got some shots in!
