dave-O
What do you think? He won three Stanley Cups with three different teams - Calgary (1989), Dallas (1999) and New Jersey (2003). 1987-88 Calder Trophy (scored 51 goals as a rookie)1994-95 King Clancy Trophy1998-99 Conn Smythe Trophy
SmoothedShredder
Yes... he totally deserves it, and the hall will be a better place with him.
Davey Boy 2.0
i have always had it in the back of my mind that he'd be in there but it's tough to know just how big a profile you need to have to make it, seems like the actual requirements are a bit intangible...51 goals as a rookie!? that's awesome
Jaimoe
He reinvented his role as a player as he got older, not unlike Kirk Muller (but Joe was a better player). I think he deserves to be in the Hall, but he may have to wait awhile.
badams
I'd say he's in. He was never dominate but he was consistent and made big plays when needed.
dave-O
I'm on the fence. Like Badams said he was never dominate, but 3 Cups, a Conn Smythe and a Calder is probably enough hardware to get him in.

He's ranked 49th all-time in points due more to longevity but still enough for me to put hm in.
Jaimoe
Longevity with a good point output is almost always awarded Hall-wise, unless your name is Dino or Ray Ferraro.
djmelbatoast
Is this even a discussion? It seems that anyone who plays for ten years in the NHL on a first or second line gets into the hall of fame. He'll be there, everybody's there. Tissue Man
yeah im awake.. hah. should chime in to rich stadium more often. i dont think those point totals are just due to longevity. he is also one of 3 guys in the history of the league to start his career with consecutive back to back 50 goal seasons.. the other two gretzky and bossy. pretty good company. ovechkin may do it this year. little threadjack here, did anyone catch AO drinking the can of coke on the bench the other night against the sens? Coke should be jumping all over that.

Coke should be jumping all over that. I thought it was funny that Healey never referred to the beverage in question by name. Sort of bizarre in this day and age of 'sports drinks' and health consciousness to see a marquee player drinking a can of coke on the ice!
