Consumer Advisory over Stella Artois Beer

Friday, July 13, 2007

Labatt Breweries and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency have issued a warning about suspected tampering of Stella Artois bottles.

A consumer advisory warns consumers, restaurant and bar owners to watch for Stella Artois 330 ml single-serve bottles sold in restaurants and bars.

The six 330-ml single-serve bottles have best before dates of November and December of 2005.

Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials say new labels appeared to have been glued over the originals on the neck of the bottles. The bottles had also been opened and a concentrated alcohol placed inside.

Suspected tampering incidents have occurred with beers sold at restaurants and bars in Toronto and Kamloops, BC.
