... why not play directly across the road in a real amphitheatre for two nights instead of breaking in a new venue not designed for concerts?

because the amphitheatre is a horrible venue? the acc is a much better concert venue.

fwiw' date=' the BMO stadium is owned by Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment Ltd and was designed as a multi-purpose venue. the lack of seats at the north end, as well as the placement of the scoreboard was specific to allow for an inhouse concert stage. there are also wiring troughs under the field.

I'd love to see them pull it off at BMO, but its still an unproven outdoor concert venue and will have all kinds of audio woes attached to a first-ever outdoor show. I can't see Radiohead playing indoors during the summer months.

Isn't the Molson Amphitheatre just too small for them now?

I saw them in Barrie's Molson Park (one of my favourite concerts ever) with The Beta Band back in '01 and the place was packed with over 30 thousand fans - closer to 40. The Dome would be large enough, but Radiohead is a different breed of supergroup. They may not want to play big venues for this tour, even if they can sell them out - which they can.

What was the sound like at the BMO Field for the Genesis show? It's hard to believe that a soccer field could sound as good as an amphitheatre built for concerts. Having said that, I've definitely had some crappy sound experiences at the Molson Amphitheatre.

I'm not really a big Radiohead fan, but am wondering what the appeal of the BMO field is. Or is it simply a venue size issue?

Peace, Mark

In such an open air venue as BMO Field the sound is always at risk of being blown away if it is at all windy.

The Genesis show on September 7, 2007 at BMO Field was an overcast and windy day, though where my seats were situated on the seats but close to the stacks, the sound was good. I have no idea what the audience were hearing at the opposite end of the stadium where the sound had to travel the the farthest.

I could see there being a problem at BMO Field on a windy day as it is a more open field than most baseball or football stadiums.

Peace,

Tim

for Tea? ;)

Yes and hopefully some croquet ;)

English Tea

by Paul McCartney

Would you care to sit with me

For a cup of English tea

Very twee, very me

Any sunny morning

What a pleasure it would be

Chatting so delightfully

Nanny bakes fairy cakes

Every Sunday morning

Miles of miles of English garden, stretching past the willow tree

Lines of hollyhocks and roses, listen most attentively

Do you know the game croquet

Peradventure we might play

Very gay, hip hooray

Any sunny morning

Miles of miles of English garden, stretching past the willow tree

Lines of hollyhocks and roses, listen most attentively

As a rule the church bells chime

When it's almost supper time

Nanny bakes fairy cakes

On a Sunday morning

Maybe a little harsh.

I don't know, I don't get it, it's not like she's a music prude. Just doesn't like them. However she does support my love of radiohead, so I can live with that.
