AD
My Morning Jacket is coming back to Canada! June 16 Mon Toronto, Ont Kool Haus June 17 Tue Montreal, QC Le National Too bad (for me) those dates are so close to Bonnaroo, gonna be mighty tough to get back for the Montreal show. Maybe we can hitch a ride with the band... The dates announced for their European tour rule out a stop at Bluesfest.
Jaimoe
I can't say that I'm thrilled with the venue, but the Kool Haus has upgraded their sound and acoustics. I'm off that night so I'll be there. It'll be hard for this show to beat the Berkeley Church though.
AD
Head down to Montreal then, if you can. Le National is a great little theatre for MMJ. Plus a Montreal crowd will surely be better than Toronto.
Jaimoe
I gotta work on both days, but I'm on my day shift schedule. No way I'd make Montreal since my shift ends at 7pm. Toronto will do. I've seen them 3 times, so it'll be interesting to see how many converts they get playing in that dreary place.

Jaimoe
BTW, My Morning Jacket will the musical guest on SNL on May 10th. I'll be doing the same thing I did when Arcade Fire and Wilco were on the show; record the performance and fast-forward through the "comedy" bits. Birdy
Not awesome! I'm pretty much relocating to the westcoast for june! Why can't they ever play Detroit?
AD
i'm guessing they've played detroit more than they've played toronto
Jaimoe
I just checked ticket prices for a few of MMJ's upcoming dates. It looks like they average in the low $30's to close to $40 US. Of course, I'd personally pay double to see them, but the Montreal and Toronto shows should be reasonably priced.
Birdy
They haven't played in detroit in a couple of years now... around Michigan yes, but Detroit or GDA no.

Birdy
Agh.. corporate sponsorships! Makes sense though! Pineknob... er DTE is ridiculous with signage. It still sucks. Radiohead has an enormous fan base in Michigan... it's too bad they can't find a venue (there's only a ton of them) to play.Damn socially minded musicians.
