Rumour has it that James Iha and D'Arcy Wretzky were not involved with the recording of Siamese Dream and that "Mr. Control Freak" Billy Corgan did all the guitar and bass work himself.

Also, according to "rumour" (the Wikipedia of its day), James and D'Arcy were in the middle of of breaking up and Corgan got sick of their bickering so he just recorded their parts hisself.
