If Rochester is at the Highland Bowl, that would be a blast.

oooh good call. i missed that one.

the show in shelburne is at the shelburne museum. here's some info on the venue

THE VENUE:

The Green at Shelburne Museum is a gentle sloping field located adjacent to the renowned Shelburne Museum. The Green is a magnificent venue to experience a concert. Perched atop the highest point in Shelburne Museum, The Green faces west with panoramic views of the rolling foothills of the Green Mountains, serene Lake Champlain, and the distant Adirondacks.

DIRECTIONS:

The Green at Shelburne Museum is conveniently located 7 miles south of Burlington, VT along US Route 7 (a major Vermont artery that goes through Burlington). Traveling South on Rt 7, the Museum is on the right (west) side. Look for signs.

VENDORS:

There will be local Vermont food and beverage vendors on site for the event as well as some local artisans. Alcohol will be served in designated beer gardens. Please bring your ID if you plan on drinking.

HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY:

Please keep in mind that this is an outdoor field, however we will have handicap parking close to the main entrance. We ask

that you alert us in advance to any special needs you may have in order for us to better accommodate you.

CAMPING/ACCOMMODATIONS:

There is no camping onsite. However there are a number of great local campgrounds and hotels nearby.

• Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce: (802) 863-3489 or www.vermont.org

• Vermont Campgrounds Association: www.campvermont.com

GENERAL SHOW INFO:

• Gates for most concerts open at 5pm and the music begins promptly at 6pm* (*Jackson Brown: ates 6pm, Show 7pm). All shows are expected to finish by 9:30pm.

• Come early to avoid missing any of the performance.

• All shows go on rain or shine!

• Parking located right next to the venue; however, we encourage and request carpooling.

• Children 12 and under FREE!

• More info at 802.652.0777 (Higher Ground) or info@highergroundmusic.com

WHAT TO BRING:

Blanket, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, rain gear (if appropriate, all shows are rain or shine, and there is no covered area), water, low beach-style folding chairs, cash, ID if you want to drink.

WHAT NOT TO BRING: Glass, pets, alcohol (beer & wine will be served inside the concert), tall folding chairs (anything a basketball can fit under), large golf umbrellas.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We at Higher Ground are constantly trying to improve the concert experience for our patrons. We take customer feedback and comments seriously. For this reason we’re including this note with every ticket to address some of the concerns that were realized last summer.

A few concerns:

1. We discourage coolers. Since we must perform a search for glass, alcohol, and sometimes cameras (depending on the artist), coolers can slow the entry process down. It’s our goal to get everyone in as quickly as possible.

2. Chairs. We do not allow tall festival chairs (anything a basketball can fit under) since those directly behind you cannot see. Low, beach-style chairs are fine, as are blankets. If you bring a tall festival chair you’ll be asked to sit at the back of the lawn.

3. Umbrellas. Small pocket umbrellas are fine if it looks like inclement weather, however large beach umbrellas will not be admitted as they impede the views of those sitting around you.

4. Children. We encourage a family atmosphere and allow children under 12 for free. We hope to continue this practice and ask that parents please keep an eye on their children, particularly for quieter performances when others are trying to listen to the music.

5. Dancing. There were issues last summer at some of the concerts with folks dancing in front. If you want to dance please go to either side of the stage.

6. Leaving the concert. It can take 30-45 minutes to exit the parking lots. Please be patient. Everyone is trying to leave at once and it just takes time to get everyone onto Route 7. Carpooling is the best solution.

7. Neighbors & Respect. Please be respectful of Shelburne Museum and their neighbors. They’re very gracious to allow us to host 4 concerts over the summer. Please don’t litter, please don’t make unnecessary noise (like beep to get out of the parking lots faster). This wonderful concert series will only continue if everyone is respectful and works together.

The Shelburne Museum is a goregous venue. Just a big lawn with ample room and killer views. The Adirondacks are a pristine wilderness, so any venue with views of them is going to be pretty special. Plus, it's right on the outskirts of Burlington, which is always a great stop.

Now that I think about it, my favourite Hip show was in Vermont - Bolton Valley Ski Area in the summer of 2000.
