MoMack
Going to Willie tonight.Anyone got tips on where to go first? Its Beerbistro so far. But cheaper, and less crowded wouldn't be so bad...
Basher
No bars right there, but the Yonge/Dundas area is very close.
Basher
Of course, you can also hit the bar in the basement at Massey and drink away...
DevO
The Imperial Pub, upstairs (The Library they call it). (I think its called The Imperial Pub...) Kanada Kev turned me on to this gem, just around the corner from Massey.
Jakis
Imperial Pub is where I always go.
Jaimoe
Go upstairs though. The downstairs pub is a different "scene."
Kanada Kev
Yup, Imperial Pub. Don't expect super fast service, it's not their style. Go early and relax. They have an upstairs patio too that is smoke friendly and really nice to sit on (well, not tonight with it being so cold). Basic food too. Burger & Fries, etc.
Jaimoe
There are three very good - and authentic - Irish pubs in the area too: The Irish Embassy, PJ O'Brien's and Pat Burns (all owned by the same ex-pat Irishman, Paddy Burns).http://www.pjobrien.com/

Booche
He does a fairly good job of acting like a country singer.I completely disagree. He does a piss-poor job of acting like a country singer.
Jaimoe
What I meant is that he acts the part, but country isn't in his soul, just like The Tea Party fake playing the blues. Ah, I'm on 4 hours sleep. I can't even get a good shot out at the fucking Tea Party!
MoMack
What did he say on CBC? No volume here. And thanks for all the recommendations...
Booche
What did he say on CBC? He told you not to miss the glorious singing of 83 year old Ray Price but also said to skip his own band.Billy Bob's set runs 30 minutes. Ray Price was probably out there 10-15 minutes after they were done.
Jaimoe
My late father loved Ray Price. I wish he was alive and got to see the show in Kingston.
Patchoulia
Jian Ghomeshi (sp?) accidentally introduced him as an actor/musician when he had been specifically instructed NOT to mention Billy Bob's Hollywood history...as a result, BBT just acted like a dick, wouldn't answer/respond to questions, refused to play with his band (they had to perform on the air without him).
