TheSloth
all the way to way the NFC championship game and then pleeeease get crushed. Very interesting salary related facts for the next season.
Schwa.
Can't help but think that no salary cap will kill a few teams. Small markets can't compete (see MLB)
mister slippery
Sloth,Are you actually a Cowboys fan, or is it just something to do with the article you posted that I didn't read yet? We've already got a good Arsenal/Chelsea thing, do we actually have a Cowboys/Vikings thing brewing as well? :content: All the best. Booche
Dan Snyder has an impressive record of signing free agents.
Whitey
Yes, he does, but he seems to have stepped aside a bit and is going to let the GM and the coach run the team.
TheSloth
Slippery, I hate the Cowboys with the intensity of a thousand burning suns. I'll be cheering for Purple Jesus and Old Balls Favre. In relation to the article, I'm a big fan of the salary cap era in football and even though the Redskins may benefit (we shall see) I prefer the level playing field. Northern Wish
I'll look for a source to back this up- but it was a case study in my Econ 301 class that teams who finish in the Top 4 but do not win the championship, are more financially successful than those who hoist the cup/ trophy/ banner.... TheSloth
Aarrrrgh! Doesn't matter how many defensive studs the Redskins acquire they just signed Jim Haslett as their defensive coordinator. For fuck's sake, Jim guided that vaunted and terrifying Rams defence from 2006-2008. I don't have time to dig up stats on him, I remember thinking he was shitty head coach when he was in NO and I hate him already. Hopefully I’m wrong. Northern Wish
There seems to be lots of discussion on how he really shot his own foot by sticking by Aaron Rodgers while in NO....... Ouch.
TheSloth
Sorry to the thread jack a little with the Redskins shit but Sean got me interested in the stats.New Orleans - Defence Rank2000 - 8th (Head Coach)2001 - 16th (Head Coach)2002 - 27th (Head Coach)2003 - 18th (Head Coach)2004 - 32nd (Head Coach)Well he guided that team right into the basement.St. Louis Rams - Defence Rank2006 - 23rd (Defensive Coordinator)2007 - 21st (Defensive Coordinator) 2008 - 28th (Head Coach)I guess that Rams team didn't really play D anyway but still, how the fuck could this guy be considered a defensive coordinator is beyond me. Northern Wish
The only bright spot if you can call it that, is that the only time his team 'improved' on defense is while he was a DCo. All the way from 23rd to 21st!!At least hes not your head coach...From 8th to last overall in 5 short years.

peipunk
I refuse to cheer for Favre ever since that old cunt took that $150 Proline ticket right out of my pocket with that impossible throw at the start of the year.I am rooting for a very highly unlikely Cardinals-Ravens Superbowl!
