Guest Low Roller
Might as well get a thread going just in case something notable happens in the next three days. Until it does, you can amuse yourselves by trying to figure out this extended version of rock/paper/scissors:
Guest Low Roller
Per Bob McKenzie: Florida trades Jordan Leopold to Pittsburgh for a 2nd round pick in 2010, pending trade call with NHL.
Guest Low Roller
Islanders won't be moving a goalie any time soon. Rick DiPietro is out indefinitely with knee swelling according to Eric Engels. It's the stupid contract that just keeps giving.
Northern Wish
Fuck me. I basically gave up Roloson for nothing because of Ricks strong but oh so short return to glory.... And Varlamov just keeps reinjuring everything.
Guest Low Roller
Denis Grebeshkov from Edmonton to the Nashville Predators for a second round draft pick in 2010.

Guest Low Roller
I know, right. This next one is even more shocking:The Thrashers got Evgeny Artyukhin from the Ducks for Nathan Oystrick and a conditional pick in 2011.Boring day. Sponge beats water.
Guest Low Roller
Chris Chelios has signed with the Thrashers. This is quickly becoming the worst run-up to the trade deadline ever.

Guest Low Roller
Post-Olympic period, to qualify my statement.Phaneuf went to the Leafs. I'm sure he's still pretty pissed off about that.
Guest Low Roller
Today's crop of waiver'd players:Brad Lukowich (Vcr), Ryan Oulahen (Det), Enver Lisin and Aaron Voros (NYR), Anders Eriksson (Phx), Chris Chelios (Atl), Ryan Jones (Nsh), and John Grahame (Col).Do not want. Northern Wish
Forgive my ignorance, but why would ATL sign Chelios only to waive him the next day?[color:purple]They want him in the Hall as a Thrasher??
Guest Low Roller
He needs to clear waivers to come back to the NHL because he was playing on an AHL contract in Chicago.
dave-O
Yeah, there's some quirk in the rules about late-season UFA signings that they have to pass through waivers after being signed. NYI signed Wade Dubliewicz (sp?) late last season and then Columbus snatched him off of waivers before he joined the team.

ollie
Is Sutton the big guy that used to suck in Atlanta? I presume he got better. Anyone know about his current game?
MrBigTime
Is Sutton the big guy that used to suck in Atlanta? I presume he got better. Anyone know about his current game?Pros:He led the Islanders in hits and blocked shots. He has the second most blocked shots in the league with 153. Sutton is in his 11th season and has played in 567 career gamesLooks like a decent shutdown defenceman, considering the fatc he is only a -1 and played on the islanders.
