reports are saying this will easily cost the airlines $1 billion in losses and could result in food shortages in northern europe within the week because nothing is getting anywhere right now.

and the geologists are saying there are no signs that the volcano is going to stop anytime soon.

we could become dinosaurs.

Well the last time they had a significant eruption at this volcano (about 200 years ago) it went on for a year and a half so the airlines had better figure something out quick because there's no saying this won't continue for even longer.

Time to bring back the Titanic?

KLM and Lufthansa are flying test flights with no reported damage, and BA is soon to hit the skies too (for test flights). Also reported that by tomorrow, 50% of the airspace over UK/Northern Europe should be clear. Which is hopeful, as I'm due to land at Heathrow at 6.30 Tuesday morning!

My Mom is trapped in Poland right now with no certain date as to when she can fly back. Her flight is booked for tomorrow HOWEVER the airline is telling her it could be as late as May 5th before they can take off.
