Low rain
My friends are recently new to Ottawa. I want to help them out with some good places to go. This includes places to take kids, restaurants, fun places, bars and of course where to connect with the jamband scene and see some good music. Any recommendations? bouche
Concerning jambandy things and good music, get them to join the board and get to know people. They won't miss a thing if they keep in touch here.
bradm
The most talked-about show in Ottawa over the next few weeks is Unseen Strangers + Dusty Drifters at the Elmdale on Oct. 29. Two great bands, a great bar, and the Friday night of a Hallowe'en weekend, for $8 at the door.Aloha,Brad

Ms.Huxtable
There's a new cupcake store in the Glebe. Now THAT's family fun! The IMAX in Museum of Civilization sometimes has interesting things playing. Biward Market of course. There's some good horseback riding places just south of Ottawa and north of Hull. Lafleche Adventures for zip-lining and caves. Drive to Wakefield for a nice afternoon. Gatineau Park. All of our bike/walking paths. Westboro or the Glebe for shopping/walking around. I recently learned how great Saunders Farms is as well. Great mazes.
