Fuck. After decades of being a pretentious prick and labelling mainstream music as a steady stream of piss for my ears, this video had to come out and I CAN'T STOP WATCHING IT! If the entire song was like the middle section, then it might at least be musically palatable. But the dancing... it's hypnotic.

aren't they one of the top selling/top downloaded bands on the planet? are they not popular? world famous, I'd dare to say. Even closed the Glastonbury Festival a while back....they don't put non-popular mainstreamy bands in that slot, do they?

The flaw in your argument is that you merge 'mainstream' with 'successful'. Using your flawed logic do we then say that the Grateful Dead and Phish are mainstream?

eff the thread 'tile'. ;)

My initial exposition argues that mainstream music is sonic urine. Sure Radiohead is popular, but clearly not mainstream.

But they are sonic urine. Reconcile that!

P.S. Eff the labtops too.

P.P.S. My bad... THIS is the thread of the day.

One person's sonic urine is another person's golden shower.

There.

Consider me disgusted with my own logic but the argument is reconciled.
