Guest Low Roller
Philadelphia Flyers have acquired the rights to Ilya Bryzgalov from Phoenix for a 3rd round pick in 2012, Matt Clackson (UFA), and other conditional picks. Bob McKenzie says that Bryzgalov's contract demands were off the charts giving Phoenix no choice but to trade his rights.Phoenix didn't get much in return (Clackson is UFA WTF?), however Philly will be in tough with the salary cap if they sign Bryz to the contract he wants.Currently they have 18 players signed, with only $430K left under the cap. [capgeek] Even if the cap goes up it still won't give them enough room. A trade plus burying Leighton's contract in the minors will be necessary. Guest Low Roller
So Jagr back to the NHL is not going away in the least. Apparently Jagr's agent has contacted four teams in the NHL while also negotiating with Jagr's old KHL team Avangard Omsk. The teams that Jagr's agent has contacted are Detroit, Pittsburgh, Rangers, and Montreal. And who exactly is Jagr's agent? This guy:
Hal Johnson
Completely random thought i just had. The last few winners of the cup were:DetroitPittsburghChicagoBostonCouldn't have come at a better time. NFL is fucked for a season and the NBA is kinda fucked too (?). Next year just might be a HUGE year for the sport in the states. Carry on. Edited June 18, 2011 by Guest
Guest Low Roller
Looks like Bryzgalov will hit the UFA market and he will be asking for the moon.Holmgren: "We are continuing to try and reach an agreement with Ilya, but it is safe to say that we are not close to achieving this.†

Guest Low Roller
Jeff Carter to Columbus for Voracek, 1st round, 3rd round... That might give the Flyers the cap space they need to sign Bryzgalov to a Kovalchuk contract.
Booche
Obviously they didnt feel like it was enough because Mike Richards is now gone as well. WTF?

Booche
At first I was like: Way to get rid of 2 long term contracts. But this I was like: WTF?
badams
They definitely got themselves out of two long term contracts, even though Carter and Richards are only 26. The players they received in return are in their early 20's. But that contract for Bryzgalov (31) is nuts.
Guest Low Roller
Is the Bryzgalov contract the longest one in the league right now (besides Dipietro)?Colorado is looking for a #1 goalie now. What's the matter? The Eliott/Anderson trade didn't pan out like you expected? Idiots. Edited June 23, 2011 by Low Roller
Jakis
Colorado is looking for a #1 goalie now. What's the matter? The Eliott/Anderson trade didn't pan out like you expected? Idiots.I think it panned out just as they expected. They lost most of their games, giving them a better draft pick this year. They weren't going to resign Anderson this year and I don't think Anderson wanted to play for them any longer.
Guest Low Roller
I don't know about that... I just think that their scouting staff screwed up on Elliott's worth. Apparently the Leafs did not want to give up Kadri and Kumelin to get either Carter or Richards. Burke is an idiot, right?

Guest Low Roller
Exactly. The Habs will not move Gomez this year for that very reason.Apparently the NHLPA is looking into claims that the Predators didn't submit their qualifying offers to their RFAs on time. If that's the case these players can all become UFAs. Oops.

Guest Low Roller
Talks between Ehrhoff and the Islanders, who they acquired yesterday from Vancouver, have completely broken down, and now the Isles are trying to trade his rights. If this happens will he be the first player whose rights have been traded twice in the same free agency period?EDIT: He just got traded to Buffalo for a 4th round pick, the same price the Isles paid to get his rights in the first place.
