Phish Rumour

So I'm sure many have heard various phish rumours floating around. And though I'm usually skeptical, I've got a lil more faith in this rumour now. For the last couple weeks, I have heard from different sources, that phish will be playing a multi-night run in vegas, sometime in mid-april. From the information I was given, it looks as though PTBM will be on pre-order/lottery starting feb 13th-18th. So with that in mind, I'm assuming that the dates should be announced sometime next week? Aren't they usually out several days prior to the lottery??

If this is true.. make some room on that plastic fellas! So save your money, why see PHIX, when you can see the real thing!?

I only know of rumoured vegas dates because of some folks that are closely tied to promoters in vegas. Apparently aftershows are already in the works, potentially moe. playing at HOB again for one of those nights.

Guess we'll see if I shouda kept my bigmouth shut or not!

We used to stay at Lake Mead when the Dead played Vegas. It's a national park not too far from Vegas, nice hot springs too. Circus Circus was always a good bet though if Mead is too far away, I can't remember (surprise, surprise) how far from the city it is.

There are SO many Vegas packages, I'd be stunned if you couldn't find a decent priced hotel-air combo. Try a travel site like expedia.ca.

Actually I just did a quickie search myself, apparently there's availability at Terrible's which is just down the road from the Hard Rock - don't know how good the actual hotel is thou. Plus there are regular shuttles that go from just about any strip hotel, so it probably doesn't matter too much where you stay if you're on the strip. Off the strip (like up off Fremont in the old section, or off to the west) and I'd call the hotel about the shuttle service or you might get screwed on cabs. Be warned - Vegas ain't a great walking town if you're not close to where you're going. Distances even on the strip for instance are deceptive, and of course you're in the middle of the desert!

Last time I was there I stayed at the Grand which was excellent, but you tend to walk around so much that it doesn't matter too much where you stay, you're never staying in your room much anyway.

Peace,

Mr. M.

After my first time in vegas this past halloween, I realized that a rental car is a MUST for vegas!

Cabs are NOT easy to catch after the show from thomas and mack, plus, the cost of cabbing around town for a weekend would probably come close to the cost of renting a car!

Plus, there is plenty of parking everywhere, the only problem is finding someone to be designated.

So.. who's going for vegas tix?!?!?!

I wonder if these tix will be as hot as the return from hiatus.. they are explicitly saying 'only shows before summer'...

Good thing they announced it now too, 'cause I almost bought a flight to vegas for the easter long weekend!

You want to know the best place to stay in Vegas...Motel 6 baby!!! Super cheap and clean, has a pool and an all hours store (beer) on-site. The best part is that it is 3 blocks from the MGM grand/Excalibur/New York New York corner of the Strip and 4 blocks in the other direction is the Thomas & Mack Center...it is the closest hotel to the venue for sure. If you really want the Vegas experience I woulkd suggest the Mirage, super old school rat pack hotel, dead center of the strip, amazing rainforest bar, plus VOLCANOS!!!! Its only downfall is its not very close to the venue and getting a cab on the strip can sometimes be a challenge....you can always rent a Ferrari!

Don't be afraid to rent a Car at the airport. Vegas is a pretty easy city to drive around. When we flew in for the Dead in 95 we rented a 4x4 at the airport and spent sometime during the days driving around the desert. It's sometimes good to get out of the casinos for a while. It's also good for the pocketbook.
