Swifty
Everyone give me a HELL YEAH!! Adding the leagues top scorer to the top team in the league pretty much guarantees the cup will return to Hockeytown! The Constable
Blow it out your ass Swifty. I'm willing to bet a boat load of cash that the Wings don't have what it takes to get by Colorado or Vancouver in the West when the playoffs roll around. frescolopez
When Hatcher gets back - the Wings are going to be tough to beat... However, once the Leafs pick up Gonchar and Kolzig - they will be the team to beat in the East.
elemeno
wippydodahday swifty i should call child welfare on you for dressing your son in a wings jersey. at least give the kid some kind of a chance in life to make friends. shame on you. ggrtrhhrtgg
Curtis Joseph = another disappointing playoff year for the Wings!! Leafs would be very stupid to sign Gonchar-- they need a defenseman that can clear the front of the net (look at what Philly did to them last year) Watch out for those pesky Habs!!! SolarGarlic
F THAT! Leafs, Wings, same pile different city. Neither will win it this year. As a matter of fact, Ill go as far as saying that neither will even be in the final. BOOHOO. I don't know who will win, maybe the Devils again, maybe the Sens. I do think it will be someone from the East again. Col and Van are killer teams but i just don't get a feeling for them. Im an expert, hang on every word i say.... Swifty
fresco is absolutely right. When Hatcher gets back in a week or so that team can put out four lines no one can match. I'm betting the Wings aren't done trading just yet. I'll talk more shit in june when the cup gets paraded down woodward ave..

The Constable
You're all talk Swifty ... you must not be that confident or else you would have taken me up on the offer to wager I threw your way. I kind of remember this same bullshit over confidence last spring when the 'mighty' Red Wings were buried 4 straight by the Ducks. Remember that??? Jaimoe
The Leafs should try to get Brendan Witt. Fuck all the Gonchar and Kolzig talk. Witt is what they need. He plays like Jason Smith and is younger. Gonchar will cost the Leafs too much and they already have one of the top offensive defense corps in the league; plus Gonchar's softish and is a defensive liability. Jaimoe
quote:Originally posted by Chewie: red wings are the yankees of the nhl. mike illich is the geo steinbrenner of hockey I would argue that the Rangers are the Yankees of hockey, but without the success. Illich at least signs his players for more than a year. Colorado on the other hand, has no qualms about renting a player for the playoff run. Detroit never seems to have a rent-a-player attitude and mentality.

purple foot
the rich getting richer. can't see the wings stumbling against an anaheim this year. they won't fuck around. you'll see them in the finals. against the leafs. Can't see the leafs getting gonchar or kolzig. The asking price is too high. with new jerseys banged up defence i would expect him to go there or colorado. Word is toronto is looking at byron defoe in case eddie can't do er. Definately need a stay at home Dman as well. houston hammers cummin on strong.
