Hmmmmm...on the albums I have and the 3 CD best of the boots collection I have the Gourds seem to credit Snoop for that song...seems strange to credit Snoop for a song they wrote doesn't it?

That band's Web FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) list postulates that the confusion stems from the fact that the song was originally done by Dr. Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg, and an NYC hip-hop artist named Phish.

Unless the Gourds wrote lines like:

"It's kinda hard being Snoop D o double g"

"Later on that day, my homie Dr. Dre came through with a gang of Tanqueray"

"Dre got some bitches from the city of Compton"

Then Snoop definately did not cover The Gourds. The chorus, maybe, but not the entire song...

I like Phish's versions of " Rock & Roll " and " Oh! Sweet Nuthin' ".

Any time they cover Who tunes is great too.

However, I'm still in shock reading that Phish Stick hates " Loving Cup " by The Stones. It's the best song on The Stones' best album: Exile On Main Street. Phish does it justice, but can't top it.
