Final Fuse Taping

bouche

Recommended Posts

The last I heard, Fuse was getting so popular that they had to start up a "lottery" in order for people to get tickets. However...Fuse is shutting down? Why?

Hello Fuse fans,

We hope you're having a great summer. As you probably have heard, Fuse

is winding down for good (our final broadcast date is now September

20th) and we've got just one last taping to go. And--yup--you're all

invited.

On Tuesday, August 19th at 7pm in Ottawa, we're welcoming to Studio 40

the bright indie-pop of Toronto's Kat Burns & The Forest City Lovers,

and a vocal folk trio, Ottawa's own Finest Kind. It's a special episode,

as there are familial connections among the unlikely Fusers that we'll

explore throughout the show.

If you'd like to come hear the music and say goodbye to Fuse, please do

not reply to this email. Rather, head on over to

http://www.cbc.ca/fuse/tickets.html and fill out the form to request

your spot. We're giving away the tickets on a random-draw basis, and

we'll be drawing the names on August 8th. We'll contact the winners

only--you'll hear from us by August 12th if you've secured yourself a

spot. Due to high demand, we ask that you please only request a ticket

if you're sure you can come. We do not maintain a waiting list for

cancellations.

If you can't make it in person, be sure to tune into the final four

episodes of Fuse from August 30th - September 20th (well, we hope you'll

listen to our fabulous summer repeats throughout this month as well, but

make a special effort to tune into our extra-fabulous, all-new final

shows!).

Here is the updated broadcast schedule for Fuse. We don't have to tell

you that we broadcast at 3:05PM on Saturdays, right?

August 2 - Sunparlour Players & Voices of Praise Gospel Group

August 9 - C.R. Avery & The Sojourners

August 16 - Grand Analog & Dr Draw

August 23 - Jay Crocker & Woodpigeon

August 30 - NEW! - Threat From Outer Space (groovy hip-hop soul) & the

Whitehorse Blues Allstars (jump blues), live from the Dawson City Music

Festival

September 6 - NEW! - Basia Bulat (lovely folk-pop) & Done Gone String

Band (Appalachian/bluegrass from Whitehorse), live from the Dawson City

Music Festival

September 13 - NEW! - Oye! (Latin hip-hop) and The Choir Practice

(sing-along vocal pop), live from the Regina Folk Festival

September 20 - NEW! FINAL EPISODE! - Finest Kind & Forest City Lovers

If you like attending live musical events put on by your friendly local

Once again, thanks a million for coming out and cheering on the

musicians over the past four seasons - the success of Fuse was in part

thanks to you.

Cheers,

The Fuse Team

Threat From Outer Space

Gad, I haven't heard of (let alone heard) these guys since mid-2002, when they played Babylon with ferriswheeler.

I actually ran into one of those guys at Evolve one year. He was backstage mooching booze, just like I was!
