Apollo's easily one of my favourite bands next to The Slip of course but Dr. Dog have a lot more in common with Apollo Sunshine. Listening to a slew of their stuff on www.imeem.comWas reminded of them when BSS' Brendan Canning picked them as noteworthy in Eye Weekly, something like 'here comes the George Harrison guirar solo, here comes the song that sounds like the Band' but I love it anyways. deranger Posted December 4, 2008 Report Share Posted December 4, 2008 they were easily one of the best bands I saw live in 2008. a must see for any fan of live music, IMO they absolutely had elements of the Beatles and The Band and holy shit they are good ones. Not quite a jam band, not quite an indie band, not quite a pop/rock band, but somewhere wonderfully in all that. jaw-fucking-dropping band. go and see they asap. though they only have 1 show listed on their website, in Australia, 2009 should have some.
