  1. Wicked day at the Olympics for Canada. I totally agree about the commentary. I have been bitching about it from day one. Unbelievably negative. When they talked to the trampolinist, the first comment that was made was "so you weren't supposed to be here (final round) ..." FUCK YOU he just won a silver medal! (and yes, i think he was robbed of the gold too). The finish in the triathalon was nuts. What an amazing athlete. Diving! Wow. Don't know how they do it. Alexandre held his own and came through like a true champ. Didn't have a hope in catching the insane Chinese gold medalist. And the bronze in hurdles? Holy shit. Another one that they didn't give any hope to. It hurdles for fuck's sake. Remember Perdita? Those things knock out the best of them (like LoLo today). I just love comefrombehind/underdog/beattheodds finishes like this. Canada's second half of these games is rockin' compared to the dismal first half. Also, Van Koeverden sets world record in kayaking all-time world best clocking of one minute, 35.554 seconds in his preliminary race in the men's K1 500 metres and advanced to Thursday's semifinals. Van Koeverden dedicated the race and world-best time to his friend Whitfield. "I sent Simon a quick e-mail after his race, and just before mine, saying: 'You were hugely inspiring today. Thanks.'" "Simon's race was intelligent and gutsy . . . there's so much fight in that guy and he wanted it so bad. Simon has been such a force in changing my attitude. What he did in 2000 was one of the most inspirational things I ever witnessed and was an eye-opener for me and is what made me want to be a Canadian Olympian and to be an Olympic champion."! GO CANADA GO

  11. Fuck yeah!!! Awesome news. That's a day off for me too Lovin' it.
  12. Congrats!! That didn't take long. As long as their trusty owner(s) are around and having fun, dogs are happy
  13. We're IN! Heading back to our 2nd Gratefulfest. I'm stoked. No RV this time, but we'll be tenting it in as much style as we can. Kids can't wait to get back to the beach and dance to music. The New Mastersounds were one of their favourites:
  14. the speculation is noted. Nox. 11th would kickass
  15. Seriously ... rowing ... Canada kicked butt today! GO CANADA GO !
  16. i was saying that to a buddy last night. I'd love to see Wilco have a kicass starting slot and then have Neil come out and join them. Wilco as Neil's band ... sweet! Saw a great show years and years ago like that with The Odds opening and then being Warren Zevon's backing band. Same with the aforementioned Neil and Pearl Jam. Bring it on.

  19. D'oh! I must have missed it and was thinking of the heats before when you could really see them easing up. Damn, those short races are easy to miss when you're ff'ing the PVR I'll have to go back and watch again tonight. I need a day off.
  20. I think i just shit my pants!
  21. Oh man, what a morning. I love my PVR Sat down and got to see the great rowing race for the silver. Great match in the wrestling too for the gold. Holy shit did i feel happy Huynh. What a class act. I don't know if it's the lack of sleep or my deep patriotism, but during the medal ceremony and our anthem I was a blubbering mess. Felt good, felt proud. GO CANADA GO I wish the interviewers had some more positive questions when they interview our athletes. Fuck they can be annoying. Don't wreck the buzz man. Bolt was NUTS! How can somebody "jog" to a 9.69 finish?? That final is gearing up to be incredible.
  22. great time at the game last night. Thanks for the good company too Brian and Jay. Fun experience seeing the NFL in our city. Definitely has a different feel to it compared to the CFL. Gotta say, both are great entertainment and the NFL cheerleaders are of a higher calibre The VIP experience was a treat. Kickass food and no waiting for any of it. The only thing lacking was the intensity of a "real" game that counts. The game in December should be of a whole different level (unless the Bills and Dolphins aren't in playoff contention at that point ). Thanks again SP ... YOU ROCK!
  23. I noticed that in their email yesterday. Killer news. Healy makes Dead sounds sound AMAZING! Still working on getting back to NLQP. Hopefully we can pack up the van and head down on Thursday morning. Keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed
