  1. great deal. Last summer I booked a room for a couple of friends at the Shearton downtown (across from city hall) for $79 a night (i think that i was only choosing 4stars or something). Priceline rocks.
  2. Darien Lake on July 4th as well and SPAC on 6-30. http://pollstar.com/tour/searchall.pl?Content=A-RUSH&StartSearch.x=18&StartSearch.y=15&Date_From=Today&Date_To=03-25-2009&By=All&PSKey=Y
  3. i agree with the not-so-good-new-Rush tune. Oh well ... the concert will be awesome. Saw my first Rush show on the R30 tour ... i can't believe ALL those tours that i missed. Oh well, i won't anymore See all'y'all 9-19.
  4. This is the best i could get with a shitty camera phone (they gave me a polaroid )
  5. Neale is the WORST. In Saturday's game it was blatantly obvious that one of the goals was scored after Antropov redirected it with the shaft of his stick. You could see it from every angle. Neale continued to say it was everything but that. Anyone could see ... i don't know wtf Neale was doing/watching but he's so often not IN the game that he's attending. Why waste the money on his airfare and hotels, etc. He's a blumbering fool who had a brutal record as a coach in the NHL. Stick to drinking Harry ... please.
  6. Great article AD. Thanks for posting. Mats is a solid character and great hockey player.
  7. Too bad i'm not wearing a Phil Lesh shirt today ... that could have come close at least. I could stick my lava lamp in the top of it?
  8. The Stanley Cup is here at work today. Cool. Maybe i'll get a picture with it
  9. I have found my religion!! I am now a Buddhist SWEET.
  10. I totally agree with you. That should be one of the stipulations ... next year NO NEALE OR COLE!!! They were driving me nuts on Saturday night. Here's the note from the dick VP: March 26, 2007 The Tradition Continues It is with great pride and pleasure that I can tell you that at this moment, we are announcing a new six-year broadcast agreement for national English-language broadcast and multi-media rights to NHL games in Canada, beginning with the 2008/09 season. This is tremendous news for the CBC, for hockey fans, for Canadians, for our sponsors and the NHL. Hockey is part of the Canadian fabric, and today’s announcement marks what is the oldest sports rights partnership in the world--one that dates back to the very beginning of the CBC. And as our broadcasts have evolved throughout the years to meet the needs of audiences--our new agreement will continue that tradition. For the first time, the agreement allows the CBC to offer Canadians more hockey, via more platforms, than ever before. From its early years on Radio, the broadcasts of the future will take the game to fans where they are, when they want it and how they want it, through on-demand video streaming of all CBC broadcasts at CBC.ca, game coverage and content on mobile phones and via Video-on-Demand. I want to take this opportunity to say congratulations and thank you to our Sports Department. Your consistent dedication to excellence in hockey broadcasting played no small part in helping us secure the NHL as a valued partner for the next six years. This is a great day for the CBC, for hockey fans and the game of hockey. Richard Stursberg Executive Vice-President CBC Television
  11. Great news, IMHO: A joint CBC/NHL press conference is planned for noon today to outline the highlights of the new 6-year broadcast agreement for English-language broadcast and multimedia rights to NHL games in Canada. This is an exciting day for the CBC, the NHL and all hockey fans across Canada! CBC’s Hockey Night In Canada is the home of hockey for Canadians.

  13. http://www.travisbeanguitars.com/index.php/ID/09a5cacbee518676023dfa48381a6290/fuseaction/blog.detail.htm Jerry Garcia's TB1000A #715 up for auction. So something worth talking about came up the other day. On May 8th at Bonhams, Jerry Garcia's TB1000A (Artist) will be auctioned off. Jerry Garcia was one of the first 'big name' artists using Beans and was a great supporter for many years. He owned a couple of models over the years (TB500s and the upcoming auctioned TB1000A). The guitar is a great white (which has aged to that awesome vintage creame color now) Artist example with what looks to be some modifications. You can view the Auction info here . Along with the guitar are some Garcia items: "his guitar strings, a tuning fork, a string winder and an unopned pack of his non-filterd Camel cigarettes" -- quoted from Bonhams. The estimate is at a whopping $250,000 - $300,000! This guitar has brought up some interesting questions, and maybe a few of you will be able to shed some light on it. There seems to be some timeline questions. The first interesting point. The Artist serial is #715, which seems like a higher serial number for 1975 as stated. I'm not able to get definitive timeline for the Artists, but do have 'some' numbers and years to base this. 1974 Artists and Standards were started starting at #21 mid 1977 we have #1100 produced late 1978 - stated painted models started using Magnolia and Poplar bodies (Auction info states that body is made of Koa, but that might not have been verified). The other interesting point is the possible pickup modification. It appears that it has been fitted with TB500 pickups. This is interesting since TB500s didn't start production until late 1977. He must have really enjoyed the hot pickups from his 500s and wanted them in the Artist at a later date. Or could this have been a proto-type pickup that would later be used for the 500? There is a thread on the forum about this... if anyone has any ideas or information please post them here . http://www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r?sContinent=EUR&screen=lotdetailsNoFlash&iSaleItemNo=3507486&iSaleNo=15537&sServer=http://images2.bonhams.com/&sPath=2007-03/07/7392486-101-1.jpg Sale 15537 - Life on the Golden Road with the Grateful Dead: The Ram Rod Shurtliff Collection, 8 May 2007 220 San Bruno Avenue Back to catalogue Copyright © 2002-2007 Bonhams 1793 Ltd., Images and Text All Rights Reserved Lot No: 19W A Jerry Garcia electric guitar by Travis Bean, circa 1975 The body made of koa painted a crème color, two black plastic pick-ups noting "Travis Bean," a silver metal pickguard; the neck made of silver metal, the fretboard made of ebony with ten iridescent mother-of-pearl rectangular-shaped inlays; the headstock silver metal with a pressed-stamp reading "715." Included is the custom-made black leather case (that only a TB1000 guitar fits in), with some of Garcia's items still inside: his guitar strings, a tuning fork, a string winder, and an unopened pack of his non-filtered Camel cigarettes. (Please note this guitar shows signs of wear and age as Garcia played it for a number of years.) Length: 39in Estimate: $250,000 - 300,000 Footnote: One of the most well known of the Garcia guitars, he played it during some of The Dead’s and The Jerry Garcia Band’s most famous shows. Garcia owned three Travis Bean guitars; two TB500s and one TB1000 Artist. The TB1000 Artist (which this one in Lot 19 is), was a top-of-the-line instrument and only 755 were ever made. Garcia owned only this one. Seen in countless photos, this was one of his all-time favorite guitars. He played it at the Golden Gate Park show in 1975, the Orpheum Theatre show on May 21, 1976 (with The Jerry Garcia Band), and the other Orpheum Theatre show on July 12, 1976 (as well as at that show’s soundcheck). Additionally, he played this guitar during the recordings of the "Steal Your Face" album and "Terrapin Station" album. It is also the same guitar he was holding on the covers of the recently released albums titled "Don't Let Go" and "Grateful Dead: Live At The Cow Palace, New Years Eve, 1976." Included are two printed images of Garcia with this guitar, a CD of "Don't Let Go," and a DVD of the soundcheck from the Orpheum Theatre where he can be seen playing this instrument. A photograph of Garcia holding this guitar appears in the book by Jerilyn Brandelius, Grateful Dead Family Album, (New York: Warner Books, 1989), p. 79. 15. Great times at that Rochester show! It was freaky looking at the walls to the sides of the stage. One had a MASSIVE graphic of the Wendy's girl . That's the show from that page that I'm downloading right now too :) Killer second set and I remember calling the encore not knowing that JGB even covered that song.

  18. Tucker still doesn't get his hat trick, but what a response to the demise from last night!!! They played a great game tonight and Raycroft was SOLID. Two totally entertaining games. Eight goals and 78 shots on net against the top team in the East??? Not too shabby. I still can't believe that 5 teams challenging for those coveted playoff spots ALL won tonight. This is a fun race.
  19. A buddy here at work went to the show last night at the ACC. Upper bowl was empty. Should be an easy ticket to get at the show for under cost.
  20. very cool Marc-O. Thanks for those. I don't think I had seen all of them before.
  21. Before Paul was The Walrus, he was a baby seal. Heather Mills is EVIL and I think she clubbed him over the head with her leg (club) LOOK OUT! She's gonna whack that little guy
