  1. Big thanks all around to Crystal and Meg and Guigsy for your hospitality, (and your patience).
  2. Which one of you has the baby laxatives? That's where the party is!
  3. I think he could make a living as an acoustic guitar player and the loops and effects help him to be more creative and stand out from the standard singer songwriter set. There are acoustic shows available from before he started looping and more recently when he leaves the loops at home that are amazing.
  4. Don't they play that song "My Cat's on Crack"?
  5. I'm currently downloading a WMDs DVD from Tradersden right now that is a 3 camera production. Unfortunately there is one or two seeders and it is taking weeks to get this. If I do eventually get it I'll mail you a copy Baj. Other than the odd solo show it seems he is moving in this direction for 2008 anyway.
  6. From jambands.com On the heels of their recent children’s album Let’s Go Everywhere, Medeski, Martin & Wood are already gearing up to record another four records in 2008. Each album will have a different seasonal theme and group plans to develop these new compositions of the road. “Each season we are going to rehearse some ideas, tour and develop the music, and then make a record,†drummer Bill Martin says in a recent site interview. “We are going to spend about a week rehearing and writing the music before the tour, really try to develop the music on tour, and then go into the studio for 2-3 days and just nail it. It won’t be like our usual improvising in the studio. It is more like what we did with Shack-Man. But I guess on all of out records, we have a few songs that we develop before we record them." While MMW is off the road until their February 21 appearance at South Burlington, VT’s Higher Ground, Martin will perform with Marco Benevento at New York’s Sullivan Hall this evening.
  7. From Jambands: The Post Star is reporting some additional details concerning Trey Anastasio’s recent incarceration. As previously reported, last week Anastasio spent two days in an upstate New York jail, but has since been released. According to the Post Star, Anastasio’s recent incarceration stemmed from his missing a court-ordered counseling session as part of his participation in Washington County Drug Court. The article also says that the third-party counseling session did not involve a drug test. "From my perspective, he's done very well in the program," Washington County Assistant District Attorney Tony Jordan told the paper. "He's been moving right along and is on track to graduate.†The article went onto say that Anastasio has passed all his drug tests since pleading guilty to a felony charge of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  8. I think he has retired as a solo act for now and now tours as a band with Keith Mosely, Jeff Sipe, and Gibb Droll. I haven't heard much of their stuff but heave heard positive reviews.. If he was really that horrible why would YMSB & Umphrey's McGee tour and play with him constantly? He had surpassed String Cheese before they broke up.
  9. Take the looping & effects away and he can play guitar better than most acoustic players. I have never heard any of his albums but he is years ahead of a lot of players. Freaker? Any thoughts.
  10. Maybe he just needs a little help from his Phriends.
  11. Two men in my office aged 31 & 49 who have both lived & visited there swear that there are no women in Texas that are not good looking. I find that impossible to believe but maybe you can give us the scoop.
  12. I had never heard this story until reading the CBC website this morning: A Quebec labour ministry tribunal has backed the Hull Hospital's decision to exclude an overweight nurse from its operating room because she sweated too much. The nurse, who worked in the operating room for five months in 2003, weighed more than 300 pounds. She no longer works at the hospital. Lawyers for the hospital argued her excessive sweating could pose an increased bacterial risk for patients. In its decision released last week, the tribunal d'arbitrage ruled that officials at the Hull hospital were right to take that into account when they made their decision. The arbitrator also noted the nurse had problems manipulating small medical instruments in the operating room. The nurses union had grieved the decision, arguing the hospital hadn't done everything possible to accommodate the nurse. The Fédération interprofessionelle de la santé du Quebec had proposed adopting a more flexible schedule and providing special scrubs that would prevent excessive sweating. A lawyer for the nurses union was expected to react to the tribunal's decision later Wednesday.
  13. I'm gonna dress my mannequin up like Bootsy Collins and put him in charge of the afterparty. He's no-nonsense and he'll take no bull from any of you fuckers!
  14. It seems there is enough support for a designated "Bobby Forum", with "Bobby's Shorts" as a sub forum. Not to mention that I read 2008 is the year of the Rat-dog on a Chinese restaurant placemat.
  15. Is this Livingstoned's birthday party? We'll be at Langerado but we'll be partying along with ya!
  16. But Japanese Meatstick, on the other hand, is quite hilarious.
  17. The could have told Kim to just sing the songs and keep quiet otherwise. There would be 75% less Rush haters.
  18. I still think Rush would have been better off to just let Kim Mitchell be the permanent singer and the rest of them could just play. They would have had mainstream success beyond their core audience and wouldn't have so many millions who write them off altogether as soon as Geddy opens his mouth.
  19. Start some drama! We can do a least liked Bob Dylan thread later.
  20. While we're on the topic of dislikes I thought I'd start this thread. For a while in the late 90s every Phish show I got my hands on had a Guyute on it to the point that I felt Trey was forcing it down our throats. I started avoiding downloading, borrowing, and listening to any show that had it in the setlist. Now ironically I somehow don't mind it as much and am hard pressed to find a least liked (mind you I hardly know many of the songs from the final albums unless I saw them live). Anyone?
