  5. You already replied, never mind... Cover tomorrow is $-20. They pay you for attending.
  6. Yeah, it would be great if someone could look into the Lovely Feathers dealio. Confirm or deny that they're playing, that kind of thing.
  7. Sweet. My Morning Jacket, Pavement and Eric's Trip, October 20 at Barrymore's. Free drinks. Lovely Feathers with the Slip? AD ps Bouche check yer PMs
  8. "their" are the Lovely Feathers the confirmed opener for Ottawa?
  9. kool keith / dr. octagon / black elvis / etc is a hell of a lot more interesting and has a weeee bit more skill than the average "backing track junkie."
  10. Barrymore's has a stage and sightlines, multiple bars, professional staff... Rainbow is good too. Maverick's has a crappy sound-dude, one bar which is understaffed, poor sightlines, barely a stage, and sometimes a shower overhead. The last Lovely Feathers show at Maverick's was sold out in advance with a lineup down the block. Now they are opening.... Just seems odd. The unadvertised Slip show during Bluesfest half-packed the bar, now there's promo, a new album, a heavyweight opener... This isn't sour grapes, I'm glad the band is coming back. I just think the venues people book them in suck. Good thing the rich folk get the publicly funded multi-million dollar concert hall on Elgin, and the rest of the populace still have to go to Babylon and Maverick's.... (Is that concert hall still a go, or has it been cancelled?) Big ups to the promoter for thinking of Ottawa, regardless of where they play I'll be there.
  11. Here's hoping the Slip blows up huge and I can see them at a decent venue in Ottawa sometime. December 16 is gonna be messy.
  12. Who hasn't dreamed of making a sandwich while driving? I applaud this lady for trying to live the dream.
  13. what other bands has the Thirsty Toad brought in? And do they have a room for bigger bands to play, or just heated tents like you said in your post? I've never been there and never heard of the place, wondering what it's like.
  14. Fingers and legs crossed that December 16 is in Ottawa. The Lovely Feathers as support, this is excellent. They are great live. AD edit - if coming to Ottawa, please not Babylon!
  15. yeah but after 400 billion concerts she'll have saved every tree in canada, so what's the harm? that would be quite the tour shirt.
  16. Beck also did a taping today for Bravo's (?) Rehearsal Hall (or something like that) that will air on December 5, according to the City TV news tonight. AD
  17. Write good songs, play them well live, and play for as many people as possible. Stay positive.
  18. ha, i thought it was a benefit concert for sarah harmer.. that'd be a new way to promote regular concerts...
