  2. not to gossip too much here, but is Trey the only one stil recovering? I always got the impression that Page is the real hold out here. Fishman still = Wildman? What's the latest?
  3. Tennesee Fire and At Dawn, I have always labeled codiene country rock.
  4. Bon Jovi/Cinderella The "Slippery When Wet" Tour CNE Stadium 1986 Still have the shirt.
  5. Yes, please. Hope to be gettin tickets in a couple of weeks. My favorite festival hands down.
  6. Setlist? That looks like it was fun. Did Guigsy go?
  7. If you are going to go that far, Rob, drive the extra half hour to Cypress Lake. So beautfiul. All this Bruce county talk is making me miss home (Chesley) a bit. Thankfully there are Tobermory and Sauble events on the horizon.
  8. We got you down here this year. Happy Birthday to the bestest sister in the world.
  9. Exeter isn't too bad. As far as amendeties go its got a Canadian Tire, big grocery store etc. You are 15 mins from Grand Bend which is a plus. Good schools if that's important. I know its tough living in Paisley (I'm from Chesley) and I love London and know more than a few people from Exeter that turned out OK.
  10. Lawn, lawn, lawn. I gots some lawns. This is going to be fun!
  11. Like there's a single person left on this board from London who cares....
  12. Bearded Recorder of Audio Delight Bon fete!
  13. Man, things can get weird in a hurry in T.O. So, I came without a gameplan but synchronicity was set to high. I called my friend earlier in the day to alert her to the show. She called back and said I was to meet her outside the church at 6:30pm. We were greeted and taken two doors down to a treehouse (seriously, a treehouse) which connects to the Church through the yard. There we were treated well and assured that we would be walked through the backdoor at showtime. All of which were true. Meanwhile, various skuttlebutt about the band rolled in including: -The airport tags were already on their equipment for their next gig in Mexico -Jim James didn't want spicy food before the show so they had to scramble and whip up a veggie ravoli for him -they had this cool mini disc golf basket that the crew were shooting around on Anyway, we did get shuttled in through the backdoor and never did get a wristband. This would be problematic later and positioned ourselves on the floor. THE SHOW - WOW. Despite your typical shellshocked Ontario crowd, the band plowed through old and new tunes alike. Highlights for me were the Dondante, Off the Record extendo-jam, the two dancy new ones (Highly Suspecious, ?) and the familiar One Big Holiday to top it off. Post show, my friends had left their jackets backstage and getting there without wristbands and our guide was problematic. However, our host soon appeared and whisked us back through the band and to the treehouse. There we could spy on the band through glass and hang out on a warm night. I shared an herbal jazz cigarette with a TSN personality and had some good chats and laughs. By the time we snuck into the band room, we were lit and obviously a menace as a few of us were attempting three part harmony on the theme from Family Ties (for this reason alone, watching Sportcentre is going to be hard without laughing everytime) We were escorted out by security. Sorry I didn't get to see some of you, but nice spending time with friendly faces at a very special, intimate experience with this great band. As stated last night, last chance for most of us to be that close.
  14. I'm just finishing up Around the World in 57.5 gigs this morning and it is awesome. A must for any Rheos fans.
  15. What songs do you feel that there is one version so strong that no one should attempt a cover? For me, two of the untouchables are Van Morrison's original recording of Into The Mystic and Rust Never Sleep's perfect Trasher, one of my favorite Neil Young moments.
  16. YES!!! In for MMJ! Fingers crossed for Yo LA!
  17. I've done this sort of thing for my Gr 11 class before. It's a good exercise but if you really want to augment the experience have them project a corresponding image from the time and have the class comment on it as well. As for some that haven't been mentioned: Buffalo Springfield - For What Its Worth Neil Young - Ohio CCR - Run Through The Jungle CCR - Fortunate Son Black Sabbath - War Pigs
  18. Sigur Ros ,any album is probably my best suggestion Tori Amos - Winter Rolling Stones - Winter
  19. Dear Winter, There's no easy way to say this so I'll get right to the point. We are over. Your time is done. Oh sure, we've had some good times this year. Even great. But the past few weeks, you've been a real bitch to deal with. It's not just the snow. It's the snow, and melt, and snow, and melt which is stressing my foundations. You've pushed me to push myself physically, and caused me to ice my lower back more than ever. Last week, you even caused my beloved Mazda to slam into the jackass who thought it would be a good idea to jet a left hand turn across two lanes coming out the in at the Beer Store. You are at the root of my sorrows and it's only going to get better without you around. So I'm leaving. Tomorrow. For the land of hoplites and Aggamemnon, for the shores of Adriatic. And you'd better be gone when I get back. If not, I'm going to have no recourse but to ignore you like that girl whose name I can't remember at a party, like maybe I went to Teacher's College with her or maybe she's one of those lost night from my whisky days, but either way I just can't take the chance that it's the latter and not the former so I don't say hi, so I duck out and hide in the kitchen. Yah, just like that. I know you can't help who you are, but you've hurt me, you've hurt my friends and family and now it's time for you to go. Ciao.
  20. Wow, only into my second listen of this one and I'm prepared to name this one a home-run. Are you in the mood for an indie milkshake of Rheos, Queen, Neutral Milk Hotel, Morphine, and Great Lake Swimmers? Grab their new album, Parc Avenue. Great cover too! I missed this Montreal band at Hillside this summer and I am now kicking myself for it.
  21. So I've been trying to access a website now for a week or so that I am a member of a forum group on (lost-forum.com) I can't get in, but can enter both from work and via a proxy on this computer. I tried both Firefox and IE. What's blocking it and where can I turn it off. I use zonealarm as my firewall. Is it in there?
