  1. AWESOME NEWS! It appears we are tracking (yet again) on similar paths. What a way to sa-rlong-hey on Valentines Day. 2008?2009?
  2. Point against Aerosmith - I just looked for it on youtube but does anyone remember the Aerosmith parody song? Cause I'm crazy, Amazing, Cryin for you baby Both bands have interchangeable songs, especially late career Aerosmith. AC/DC's rock. Point AC/DC Plus AC/DC's only ballad is Ride On which is really just a great blues tune Point AC/DC
  3. I have to say that I am thoroughly against this idea, for some obvious and some not so obvious reasons. Contention 1: Alot of the "problems" in education have little to do with education and are largely to do with social issues that are above and beyond the scope of a school. Poverty, unstable homes, immigration issues all play a huge role in educational "success" Contention 2: What is a black school? Does it deal exclusively with black Canadians or African immigrants? Are they prepared for ESL students? Asian immigrants? Contention 3: This is a move which is going to be very hard to reverse if it fails and will create a vortex and host of problems for "regular" schools if it does not succeed. I think the TDSB really dropped the ball here.
  4. Congratulations, Bob. You are extremely couragous and with love on your side, you will succeed. We are all behind you one hundred percent!

  7. It was a rainy night When he came into sight, Standing by the road, No umbrella, no coat. So I pulled up alongside And I offered him a ride. He accepted with a smile, So we drove for a while. I didnt ask him his name, This lonely boy in the rain. Fate, tell me its right, Is this love at first sight? Please dont make it wrong, Just stay for the night. All I wanna do is make love to you Say you will You want me too All I wanna do is make love to you Ive got lovin arms to hold on to So we found this hotel, It was a place I knew well We made magic that night. Oh, he did everything right He brought the woman out of me, So many times, easily And in the morning when he woke all I left him was a note I told him I am the flower you are the seed We walked in the garden We planted a tree Dont try to find me, Please dont you dare Just live in my memory, Youll always be there All I wanna do is make love to you One night of love was all we knew All I wanna do is make love to you Ive got lovin arms to hold on to Oh, oooh, we made love Love like strangers All night long We made love Then it happened one day, We came round the same way You can imagine his surprise When he saw his own eyes I said please, please understand Im in love with another man And what he couldnt give me Was the one little thing that you can All I wanna do is make love to you One night of love was all we knew All I wanna do is make love to you Say you will, you want me too All night long All night long All night long All night long

  12. Vote Maxwebster for Dec 5 birthday king! He deserves more than these other chumps. Right back atchya!
  13. Furthermore, this show will find itself eventually on the live podcast show for NPR's live podcast feed. Past archive are availiable at NPR's All Songs Considered site and have included in the past weeks Stars, Iron and Wine and a killer New Pornographers show all from the 9:20 club in Washington.
  14. The OST to the Dylan bio-pic I'm not there is really good! Granted I could have paired it down to one superb offering but check out the talent. All Along The Watchtower" - Eddie Vedder & The Million Dollar Bashers "As I Went Out One Morning" - Mira Billotte "Ballad Of A Thin Man" - Stephen Malkmus & The Million Dollar Bashers "Billy" - Los Lobos "Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window" - The Hold Steady "Can't Leave Her Behind" - Stephen Malkmus & Lee Ranaldo "Cold Irons Bound" - Tom Verlaine & The Million Dollar Bashers "Dark Eyes" - Iron & Wine & Calexico "Fourth Time Around" - Yo La Tengo "Goin' To Acapulco" - Jim James & Calexico "Highway 61 Revisited" - Karen O & The Million Dollar Bashers "I Wanna Be Your Lover" - Yo La Tengo "I'm Not There" - Bob Dylan "I'm Not There" - Sonic Youth "Just Like A Woman" - Charlotte Gainsbourg & Calexico "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" - Ramblin' Jack Elliot "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" - Antony & The Johnsons "The Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll" - Mason Jennings "Maggie's Farm" - Stephen Malkmus & The Million Dollar Bashers "Mama You've Been On My Mind" - Jack Johnson "The Man In The Long Black Coat" - Mark Lanegan "Moonshiner" - Bob Forrest "One More Cup Of Coffee" - Roger McGuinn & Calexico "Pressing On" - John Doe "Ring Them Bells" - Sufjan Stevens "Señor (Tales Of Yankee Power)" - Willie Nelson & Calexico "Simple Twist Of Fate" - Jeff Tweedy "Stuck Inside Of Mobile With Memphis Blues Again" - Cat Power "The Times They Are A Changin'" - Mason Jennings "Tombstone Blues" - Richie Havens "When The Ship Comes In" - Marcus Carl Franklin "Wicked Messenger" - The Black Keys "You Ain't Goin 'Nowhere" - Glen Hansard & Markta Irglov And on top of that, the Million Dollar Bashers are the real story here. AS I was listening I was like, that's John Medeski! Sure enough I was right, but look who else! The Million Dollar Bashers have Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo and has Steve Shelley on drums, Television guitarist Tom Verlaine, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, guitarist Smokey Hormel, keyboardist John Medeski and Dylan bassist Tony Garnier They steal every track. What a dream!
  15. Here, here. I convinced my school to get it and I'm allowed to take home the archives. I also convinced my school to get the Atlantic, probably America's best writing.

  20. [color:purple]I had no fun at this show. Thanks to all involved in the creation of my fun night from the cab ride to our dance posse to the planners of the afterparty and hosts of the after afterparty, Dave Lauzon, and of course WEEN!!! Great setlist, great vibes, great night!
  21. In. I'll be dressed as Sunshine's Brother.
  22. Paan, you can do it! Screw the "pros". Honestly, even if you don't have the experience, just someone to help you with the first room. There are a few tricks but it's sooo worth doing yourself (I've done my share on this place) Sorry, that was no help at all.
