  1. Yes, technology has finally caught up with the "other" King. Good to see you here, sis. Now you can be a part of the mind bending, always educational experience that is the Sanctuary......

actually, all we are really is a bunch of crazed music fans who cling to each other for support because no one else will have us.

    WELCOME! [big Grin]

p.s. Doc Hux, when I said cling, I meant figuratively, not literally (unless it's me cowboy) [Wink]

  2. The Dead took a hiatus in the mid 70's and came back with new material, a different groove and subsantial substance abuse problems.

Phish took a hiatus in the early 00's and came back with new material......

How do you think this one finishes? Obviously we've seen various incarnations of the Phab Phour, what do you think they'll look like on this run? Bigger jams?Smaller jams? New focus? A Return to More Complex Composition?

A golden era ahead or as in the latter example, the beginning of the end?

    Let the games begin.....

  3. To avoid repetition, I just want to lay my2sense down on the song crafting. All too often we concentrate on the jam and very little on the tunes. Jams is what keeps things fresh in our scene, but the familarity of geniunely good tunes is what puts the bands in our hearts. Dead, Phish, mmw, moe., BNB all did it for me. Nero, GTB are getting there (time, it would seem is the final piece of the puzzle). I can feel it. Funny but I don't neccessarily feel this for all jambands. But once the bands find their way in, nuthin you can do get it out.

  4. Couple of days ago, I clicked on my own profile and to my surprise discovered it was my one year anniversary TODAY! To think, it was a year ago that I first met you all (and especially and in person, Shane, Giggles, and Beats, remember that afternoon?) Shane wanted to post a message and I was like Hmmm what's this? I'd actually stumbled over to the orginial Sanctu-city at CTMF 2001 but I digress.

So anyway, folks, just a shout out to say thank all those folks who I've chatted and (for many of you) met in person and especially everybody involved in the day to day of keeping this board running. Here's to more awesome chats and adventures to come.

    love,

  5. Here's a nifty tip if you're bored one night and need to get back in touch with your ever growing music collection. Take some time out and clean up and re-organize your CD's. If you're like me, you probably have more music than you know what to do with. So dive in and play! Here's what I found:

    - you discover some old favorites

    - you actually go back and listen to those "store bought" classics that have laid neglected for so long

    - you stop for a few seconds and think about the futility of amassing such a large collection....and then go back to check if that Wilco show you're downloading is there yet

    - you lose yourself in the glow that only a solid organizational job can give you

So don't delay. Get out there and give your discs the love they deserve. This public service announcement has been brought to you by....

  6. Cauldron: She was cute. Persue, I repeat, persue. If she's not into the heady scene, it could be a blessing. You get a night off to get off your nuts and if she don't want to come, rent her the flick of her choice and talk about it in the morning. Plus if it goes sour, one less bad memory waiting around the corner at the next show. my2sense.

Whore: Beggin for it, baby. Be in touch.

Beats: Bring back THE suit for clubbin situations. You know the one I'm talkin about you sexy bitch.

  7. ...or at least it feels like it. Could it have been the rye-diculous drinks I was being poured? Could it have been the extra hour of drinking? Or could it have been THREE SETS of unbelievable jammin from Grand Theft Bus? I am sore from dancing til four.

The Bus proved last night that they are definitely in a higher level of jamitude. Superior I believe is the word I was fond of last night. I can hardly wait to hear the tapes from this one! Good on the Back-ass lounge for booking these acts. This month has been so solid (Nero, Jimmy Swift, GTB). Cast of characters, the usual including the man who appears to be the new soundguy at the Bacchus, the 'whore. Good job, Shane. Anyway, I'm merely typing in an effort to jumpstart my brain at this point. Must curl into ball and watch football uninterupted all day.

  8. Shit , 'bacon. I'm surprised you remembered the DAT. Full on, my friend, that's the only way to do it.

Hey, are you sure that cut-out wasn't the time you knocked those cords out of Dave's pedals [Wink]

See you for GTB in two weekends?
