  1. Wouldn't that make them "expectulators"? Aloha, ToddS
  2. Does Ponderosa still exist? If so, any and all locations should be avoided.
  3. Sounds like you've done all there is to do there. Now, find the clue box and make your way to the Pit Stop for this leg of the race.
  4. The show was spectacular, if you've not seen a Cirque show go to this one. I found this show vastly more entertaining than the last time they were in town (at Lansdowne), and as good as Saltimbanco (which was at LeBreton Flats). The show has an English storyline, and I found the acts pretty much followed the theme. I wasn't as blown away with the acts as I was during Saltimbanco, but the overall presentation of Corteo is great. These Cirque guys 100% know how to put on a show.
  5. Oops, that was me pos(t)ing as my girlfriend.
  6. I know many of you have been sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear the latest news on how cheaply I was able to score a ticket to the show, so I will wrap up this thread with the following press release: Ladies and gentleman, thank-you for following my ticket quest and supporting my efforts to acquire a reduced ticket price. I am slightly saddened to report that I did ultimately buy a ticket at face value from the box office. Finding that buying tickets in person eliminated all service charges I forewent the almost $3 savings for a wider selection of available performaces and culminating in a much better seat than was available through discounted official bonus offers. The show is tomorrow and I am very excited. Again, thank-you all for your interest and support.
  7. Yeah, it's working, but the link you posted is 20% off the $85 ticket, whereas I wanna try and pay less than the $60 ticket, which is the cheapest available. I finagled your link where it offered 30% off the $60 ticket, but with shipping and service fees it comes to almost $57. If the box office sells the $60 tickets with no service charges then I might just bite the bullet and go that route as then I'm not limited to which shows I can go to..
  8. So if you hear of any more deals, keep posting them here!
  9. Huh. I just reread Bashers post and noticed that I completely mistook what was being asked of me. I have bought tickets off the street, and often I am doing so to pay less than face value, as I am off to do right now. I am familiar with the systems involved in optaining tickets to events, and as a semi-compulsive attender of live entertainment I utilise the systems alone or in tangent to my best advantage whenever I can. I liken it to bartering on the streets of Bangkok and generally feel no shame.
  10. I regularly pay way too much and compromise my principals for live entertainment, and I have three photo albums full of ticket stubs to prove it.
  11. Ticketing agencies are the bane of my existence.
  12. A few years ago at work I had a new student, and looking down at his page I see his first name is "Hash". Of course I don't know what this person looks like so standard practise is to go out into the waiting room and call the persons name. In this case I walked into the crowded waiting room and quietly and stealthily in my best guy-standing-in-a-doorway-on-Rideau-Street whisper utter the guys name a few times real quick, like I'm almost not saying anything at all. Sometimes it's a pretty fun place to work.
  13. So, how about scalpers? I was thinking about hitting the 4pm show today and looking for a single extra below face. Am I crazy?
  14. You can see why Harper didn't want May at the debate. She knows she won't EVER be PM so she can say whatever the hell she wants. Nobody else feels like they can get away with calling Harper's comments fraudulent. I wanted to strangle Dion. He was handed the question of his campaign and given first response. Did he look into the camera and say plainly to the country, "The Green Shift plan will lower your taxes and instead tax big polluting business"? No, he looked into the camera and started explaining the project in just enough detail to make most people not listen to the end and not get it, just like he always does. Other than that I thought he did well, and it's obvious he has been working on his presentation. I agree that Duceppe is an impressive politician, and if he led a different party I might be a fan. I loved it when he would state plainly that Harper was repeatedly avioding a question. When Harper was aked a question directly he was given time (out of turn) to answer. With that in mind he should have been bound to answer or forfeit his rebuttal. Layton did nothing to indicate what his party has been pushing - that they are the new alternative to the New Conservatives. The two times I switched over to the US debate (for a total of about twenty seconds) made me nauseous. American politics is a very sick joke that is being played on 300 million people and forced on billions more.
  15. Wow, I thought lawn darts were bad.
  16. I don't care what they open with as long as they play it right.
  17. Not necessarily manly, but a cool name belonging to one of my roommates from university: Nigel Savio D'sa.
  18. As someone eluded to on PT, if this is true Langerado might as well close up shop.
