  1. I enticed her outside with a treat she can't refuse last night... cheese! She went outside without any problem and didn't seem nearly as scared. We played some tricks for more treats which seemed to distract her from fear, but she didn't vear far from us and she took her sweet bloody time doing her business. I don't think she understood it was potty time. Progress.
  2. Cheese souffle maybe with spinach or asparagus, served over wilted spinach or grilled radiccio or endive. Mmm I'm hungry.
  3. Velvet I was going to post essentially the same thing. Though I can't say I'm a fan of Chapman's his time behind bars doesn't seem consistent with today's sentancing.
  4. There's a new phenomanon occuring in my Facebook now as well. Relatives who I have no idea who they are sending me friend requests. It's usually these people that send me daily "Hello" "Sunshine" "Useless crap" applications on a daily basis. I have some friend deleting to do. It's getting ridiculous.
  5. Speaking of Facebook friends, do you ever decline friendship requests? I do, but I always feel guilty about it. There are some people that I just don't care to read about every day.
  6. Ah man, sorry to hog up this thread. But I have another suggestion (cause I'm cooking for a vegetarian this Saturday). Check out the menus of some vegetarian restaraunts for inspiration. Here's one: http://www.oneworldveggie.com/menu.html
  7. Oh and by the way, Mike cooked for me on our first date. Jerk Salmon and a fresh green salad with his homemade balsamic dressing. I was so impressed I married him. (I did something else to him but his mother reads the board.) Don;t forget dessert. Good luck.
  8. We had our vagan friends over for dinner last week and made rice wraps (rice paper lined with lettuce leaf and stuffed with rice noodles, carrott, mint, cucumber, avacado, orange slices, sprouts... whatever you want.) We served this with miso soup with wakami and rehydrated black fungas but we left out the dashi. We didn't do it, but I'd recommend making a wakame salad with this as well for a nice addition to the meal. You can't go wrong with soups, salads and pasta dishes. An impressive salad combo is fennel, oranges and green olives. Strange but so delicious. Try making from scratch a pumpkin or squash ravioli (if you're not into making pasta you can stuff wonton wrappers). Serve with brown butter and fresh sage and a great bread.
  9. I think he checked himself into rehab and missed the roast entirely.
  10. Marty McFly, um I mean Micheal J Fox joins the cast of Rescue Me next season. That's good to me!
  11. Did anyone catch the Gordo interview in relix this month? I liked the photo of him all dressed in red.
  12. HAhaha, bouche's name was on the guys butt. Hhahaa.
  13. I always think of vajayjay when I look at orchids. A very falic flower I guess.
  14. Gordo's in prison? What did he do? I kid.
  15. I was just reading other forums and lots of people have this problem it seems. Mike saw a snake in our yard on Sunday. Maybe Abbey did as well, who knows, but something certainly freaked her out. Mike bought a really strong flood/flashlight and so we've been illuminating the area for her (we have the outside lights on as well), plus we do stand out with her for reassurance, but it doesn't seem to help. I don't mind walking my dog, but the last pee of the night is not my preferred time especially when it gets cold and we have a backyard. I want to correct this behaviour now.
  16. Say it is the raccoon scent, sound or whatever. Is it possible to get her past this bahaviour? Thanks for the vaccine suggestion AD. As far as I know she has all her shots and then some, but I'll double check.
  17. So anyone that's been to our house knows that we have the world's most perfect dog. (If I do say so myself). She's completely obdient and loves being outside as much as any other dog. She comes when she's called and follows me around like a shadow obeying my every word. Anyway.... we have just moved into a new place. This place is surrounded by trees and has a pond with tadpoles that she loves to watch and chase. For the first few days it seemed that Abbey loved it there as much as we do. But a few days ago some very strange and quite frankly, annoying behaviour started happening. Abbey is absolutely terrified to go outside for her last pee of the night. She wont come when she's caled, she'll hide in her bed. We literally have to pick her up and place her outside. When she's outside she just freezes, she won't move around, let alone pee. So we've had to put her on a leash and take her for a walk around the block. (Which isn't terrible but it might be a pain in the winter when I'm in my PJs at 10:30 at night.) Even this morning, she didn't want to go outside. When I called her for her pee pee time, she scurried down to the basement. I had to carry her outside, where she promptly did her business and came back in the house. So my dear Skanks, what is up with my dog and how can I begin to correct the situation? I've never seen her scared or stubborn before and she's both now but only when it comes to going outside. What would Cesar Millan do?
  18. bouche goes to Sprint Computers at Preston on Somerset next to a tire place.
  19. I'm already wondering what I'll do for a costume. Maybe Rubber Dinghy is right, maybe summer is almost over. I saw Halloween candy at Loblaws today and immediately thought of this show. Halloween 2008 = Garaj Mahal
  20. I started with Icky Thump and loved it immediately.
  21. Not true bouche. Our new mailbox has a big "No Publi-Sac" sticker on it, and the first day we moved it we had a Publi-sac on our door step not in the mailbox. I hate those damn Publi-Sacs,they stuffed with flyers and the bag they come in isn't recyclable.
  22. I second that. bouche and I have put off summer until we moved and were settled. Now that that's all done, let summer commence!
