  1. I am hurt darling. Every year since I've met you we've celebrated with either nero or BNB (except for last year when it was notably low key but still very, very enjoyable if you recall.)
  2. We're having our anniversary dinner at the Gastropub tomorrow night so it's a no-brainer to catch some free music. Joel Plaskett and Land of Talk are looking good.
  3. Hilarious! Brought a tear to my eye.
  4. We made Sangria for our wedding last year and it was gone within 30 minutes! Red wine (cheap is fine, we used homemade) Cointreau orange slices berries Sprite Club Soda Because we made about 8 buckets of the stuff I can't help you with proportions for smaller batches, it's really by taste. I remember doing equal parts club soda to Sprite though. It was MMmmmmmmmy
  5. Hello you most wonderful of people. (Teachers that is, not lurkers). I would like to do an environmental-themed event in a school in September or October and have no idea what age group, what school, what type of event I want to do yet. I'll have a couple thousand dollars for budget. My goal is really to educate, make environmental issues fun, bring awareness, have a group activity clean up or something along those lines. I'm looking for suggestions from the teachers on the site. Thoughts?
  6. Are you serious Rob? If the same guy got drunk and shot someone or got drunk and beat someone to death or got drunk and pushed someone off a cliff does that change your view of things?
  7. I have two words for ya'll - Activia Yogurt.
  8. Someone recently pulled up a thread from a couple years ago. And I loved reading the dated opinions and seeing old Sanctuary characters who aren't on the board anymore. I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a weekly retro thread, where a thread from 2+ years ago is revived. I'd do it but I really don't want to sift through all those posts! Plus, I want to be surprised.
  9. That's always bothered me how a drunk driver is just that. Some drunk guy that drove and not a killer. I don't consider that sort of death an accident. They should be viewed as murderers in court for sure.
  10. HEhehe, it sure does. A nice kidney shaped inground. It also has a hot tub so we don't need to install one. It also has a koi pond/fountain and two fireplaces AND it has no backyard neighbors. We back onto Gatineau Park and a bike path. I can't frickin' wait to cook in our big ass kitchen either. YAY bouchey. Thanks for buying that house with me!
  11. If he's impeached for any of the articles, it'll occur a day or two before he was to leave office anyway. Good message to the rest of the world but damage done.

    Go To Meal

I'm wondering what everyone else's "go to" meal is. You know when you can't figure out what to make so you end up making _________. For us it's a variation of a tortilla and meat. Like chicken quesidilla's, pork and pineapple soft tacos, spicy ground turkey, corn and cheese stuffed tortillas. Always served with a salad of some sort. They're rarely if ever the same, but we seem to make that sort of thing a lot when we're not creative. It's fail safe, delicious and cheap.

    Shout Box

Wahhhhh, where's the thing I don't want. Wahhhhh.
  14. Happy birthday. You'll always be D-Rawk to me. The 30's kick the 20's ass!
  15. AWWWWWW! I love puppy dogs. Congrats on your little cutie. I really like the name Banjo by the way. What about a nod to Meggo's travels and passion for Spanish? Perrito Gato Pancho Pedro Eva Lolita Motosierra Cultivador del infierno
  16. Officially SOLD! Hehehehe. $1900 under asking. We're drinking champagne!
  17. I'm with you on the olive call. I really love olives. Pizza and hot dogs just aren't the same without them. My favorite eat alone olives are stuffed with garlic or almonds. And here's a real treat. Green olives and oranges. I know, I didn't think it would work but it's unbelievable. Try that combo in a salad or as a salsa over salmon.
  18. I planted St. Joseph last Monday and 6 days later.... we have an offer!! Weeee hooooo!
  19. Happy happy man. You got sunshine and a whole lot of hot for your birthday!
  20. I know I said this in person but I just had to share how impressed I am with you Heather. The event was so well planned, had quality talent and quality auction items. So many times people (myself included admittedly) don't do anything either because they don't care or they believe that their actions as a single being can't impact larger scenarios. You have proven to me that one person, if they are caring, concerned and determined enough really can make a difference. I am SO proud of you. Thank you for enlightening me to the situation in Burma and providing me an outlet to help. Oh and on a side note: Bob Wiseman is amazing. I've seen him before and it was certainly memorable, but this was wildly different with the video accompaniment. It was a moving, charming, funny and musically satisfying set. Anyone who wasn't there missed something unique and special.
  21. I think you're on the right track Heather. I'd recommend that you have a fairly early(ish) end time of the silent auction to avoid the problem of people taking off without paying. Don't leave it too late and ensure people pay at the time of the auction's end not at the end of the evening so all the money hasn't been spent on beer and shooters and you're not stuck with inventory all night. It should change hands early. Call me if you need help Heather. You know I'm there if you need me.
  22. We've had Vonage for about 3 years now at $19 a month. Once in a while the reception is echoed or delayed which isn't the greatest but then I remember that we've saved $1656.00 in the past three years. It's a no brainer for us. That's the cost of a vacation!
