  1. yah... obviously. says the guy with the steel toe boot, kicking another when he's down, talking of karma in the same breath! as a subscriber to the ways of the cosmos, i'd say watch out. My Karma is paid in full Birdy I invest in it everyday. And my routing of Ted Haggrd is part of that. Besides it's not like this tread has any impact on Haggard or his people. It's simply a forum for open discusion an disourse. My views ulimately will have no impact Karmic or otherwise. So enough with the hyper sensitivity for a lying, hurtful, gay methead, preacher already. And becuase none of us are in that camp..we can make that judgement. Thanks for your concern....
  2. People like Ted Haggard deserve to be kicked when they are down. And yes we are better people.
  3. what's to celebrate about this story? I think it's pretty sad and even sadder that we as a society feel the need to rub that little bit of salt in just to make a bad situation even worse. if we could only find a way to make politics not turn everything so sour and ugly!! Mame, there is much to celibrate. A hurtful right wing conservative, gay hating, repbulican has been exposed for the very things he says he stands against. That in itself is cause for joy. It is also good to know that Karma will get your ass, if you break it and Haggard certainly did. Furthermore it makes the republican efforts to make John Kerry's "badly delivered joke", seem like an issue, a non-issue in light of all this. And just before mid-terms, sweet. But don't worry about Haggard if he is truly a religious man he can repent and ask for forgiveness (at least he's used to being onhis knees.). That's more than he and his religion offers gays! P.S. Politics are sour and inflamitory by nature as they inpact our very lives by the power they give to officials. And this is not a bad situation getting worse. This is a bad situation getting rectified and justice being served.
  4. Well boys and girls seems like X-mas has come early for Democrats as Ted Haggard, who is associated with the White House and a staunch anti gay right winger, has been exposed as a gay sex having meth snortin, hypocrate! --------------------------------------------- COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Embattled national evangelical leader the Rev. Ted Haggard admitted Friday that he bought methamphetamines and received a massage from a gay prostitute, but denies he ever used the drug or had sex with the man. "I bought it for myself but never used it," Haggard told reporters gathered outside his home. "I was tempted but I never used it." Haggard, 50, a married father of five, who resigned his post as head of the thirty million member National Association of Evangelicals, said he never had sex with Mike Jones, a 49-year-old gay escort who claims to have had a drug-laced three year tryst with Haggard. Haggard, who was leaving his home with his wife and three of his five children, said he bought the methamphetamine because he was curious. He claimed he threw it away. Haggard earlier claimed charges against him were untrue, and were political retribution for his campaign in support of a state constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. Haggard, pastor of the 14,000-member New Life Church, announced his resignation on Thursday. "I am voluntarily stepping aside from leadership so that the overseer process can be allowed to proceed with integrity," Haggard said in a statement. "I hope to be able to discuss this matter in more detail at a later date. In the interim, I will seek both spiritual advice and guidance." Haggard also gave up his post at the church. A pastor at Haggard's church, Ross Parsley, sent an e-mail to congregants saying Haggard "confessed to the overseers that some of the accusations against him are true." "It is important for you to know that he confessed to the overseers that some of the accusations against him are true. He has willingly and humbly submitted to the authority of the board of overseers, and will remain on administrative leave during the course of the investigation," the e-mail stated. A copy was obtained by KMGH-TV in Denver. Late Wednesday, Haggard told KUSA-TV: "I've never had a gay relationship with anybody, and I'm steady with my wife, I'm faithful to my wife." Among the allegations made by Jones was that Haggard paid him for sex and snorted methamphetamine with him before their sexual encounters to heighten the experience. Jones said he decided to go public with his story because of Haggard's opposition to the proposed state ban on gay marriage. "I just want people to step back and take a look and say, 'Look, we're all sinners, we all have faults, but if two people want to get married, just let them, and let them have a happy life,'" said Jones, who added that he is gay and is not working for any political group. "It made me angry that here's someone preaching about gay marriage and going behind the scenes having gay sex," he said. Colorado voters will decide on the gay-marriage ban amendment when they vote next Tuesday. Jones claimed Haggard paid him to have sex nearly every month over three years. He said he advertised himself as an escort on the Internet and was contacted by a man who called himself Art. Jones said he later saw the man on television identified as Haggard and that the two last had sex in August. He said he has voice mail messages from Haggard, as well as an envelope he said Haggard used to mail him cash. He declined to make the voice mails available to the AP, but KUSA-TV reported what it said were excerpts late Thursday that referred to methamphetamine. "Hi Mike, this is Art," one call began, according to the station. "Hey, I was just calling to see if we could get any more. Either $100 or $200 supply." A second message, left a few hours later, began: "Hi Mike, this is Art, I am here in Denver and sorry that I missed you. But as I said, if you want to go ahead and get the stuff, then that would be great. And I'll get it sometime next week or the week after or whenever." Carolyn Haggard, spokeswoman for the New Life Church and the pastor's niece, said a four-member church panel will investigate the allegations. The board has the authority to discipline Haggard, including removing him from ministry work. The allegations stunned church members. "It's political, right before the elections," said Brian Boals, a New Life member for 17 years. Church member E.J. Cox, 25, called the claims "ridiculous." "People are always saying stuff about Pastor Ted," she said. "You just sort of blow it off. He's just like anyone else in the public eye." Haggard, 50, was appointed president of the evangelicals association in March 2003. He has participated in conservative Christian leaders' conference calls with White House staffers and lobbied members of Congress last year on U.S. Supreme Court appointees after Sandra Day O'Connor announced her retirement. After Massachusetts legalized gay marriage in 2004, Haggard and others began organizing state-by-state opposition. Last year, Haggard and officials from the nearby Christian ministry Focus on the Family announced plans to push Colorado's gay marriage ban for the 2006 ballot. At the time, Haggard said that he believed marriage is a union between a man and woman rooted in centuries of tradition, and that research shows it's the best family unit for children. 8. [color:blue]Break out the coke and watch out in the low post 'cause...................... ------------------------------------- Kemp still wants to return to NBA Shawn Kemp Associated Press 11/6/2006 12:42:38 AM SEATTLE (AP) - Shawn Kemp still isn't ruling out a return to the NBA. Kemp was honoured on Sunday night as part of the Seattle SuperSonics' 40th anniversary team as voted on by fans of the franchise. Kemp, who played in Seattle from 1989-1997, was one of 16 players selected. After receiving the loudest ovations during a halftime ceremony, the six-time All-Star said he will be headed to Italy next month to play for a team in Rome, and still wants another shot at playing in the NBA. "I've still been in contact with a lot of teams. I played ball all summer," Kemp said. "Between you and me, I would love a chance to win a ring." Kemp hasn't played since 2003 and has received more attention for legal problems. In April 2005, Kemp was arrested for possessing small amounts of cocaine and marijuana in his truck outside Seattle. He was also arrested this past summer in Houston for possessing less than 2 ounces of marijuana. Kemp was also featured in a story by Sports Illustrated in 1998 detailing athletes with out-of-wedlock children. The article said he reportedly fathered at least seven children by six different women. As a player, Kemp was noted for his remarkable athleticism for a power forward and his powerful dunks. Kemp averaged 14.6 points and 8.4 rebounds during his 14-year NBA seasons with Seattle, Cleveland, Portland and Orlando, but struggled with his weight at the end of his career. With the Sonics, Kemp averaged 16.2 points and 9.5 rebounds. In 1996, he helped lead Seattle to its first Western Conference championship since 1979, before losing to Chicago in the NBA finals. "Don't be surprised if you see me sneak in here and play this season," Kemp said. Other members of the 40th anniversary team were: Fred Brown, Lenny Wilkens, Spencer Haywood, Slick Watts, Jack Sikma, Detlef Schrempf, Xavier McDaniel, Sam Perkins, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Dennis Johnson, Gary Payton, Nate McMillan, Dale Ellis and Gus Williams. Only Johnson, Payton and McMillan were not at the ceremony, but each taped a video message.

  12. Taking high percentage shots is the important thing - and I think the Raptors have the moxy this year to take high percentage shots. Unlike last year where Mike James continually hoisted up forty 30 footers per game in double-coverage. The only one who liked seeing that other than James' date=' was Chameleon.[/quote'] Why do you assume I have a love affair with Mike James? I don't. I though he was OK but a ball hog, and took bad shots as youi indicated. I have no love for James. I did like Rafer Alston though despite the meltdown. I still say it all went south when the traded JYD. I will assume groaning and laughing will insue Jaimoe
  13. I saw on TV last night that many of the voting districts are using new "electronic/paperless" voting terminals. Does this concern anyone else? This seems to just scream for voter tampering. I really hope the Rupublicans and Rove don't have another ACE up thier sleeve. Ugh.

  17. Moby Grape! Here Here! Omaha! Nice to see Blue Cheer, Shugie Otis and Todd Rundgren onthe list. I agree totally.
  18. Are you American or something? (best president we could ask for?). If so this would explain a tonne about your posts.
  19. I use it all the time for PoliSci courses' date=' that and ebaums world. [/quote'] Yeah Ebaum's world is wild too. As off-center as the source may be the photo certainly appears to be genuine.
  20. I never said that. You did. What I am saying is that this picture represents a snapshot of the mentality of the American soldier in Iraq. And given the reposts of rape, torture, excutions and other atrocities by Amercian soldiers, I think this graffitti may be more accurate than we know.
  21. Agreed I was being generous. But the who without moon is like Zeppeling without Bonham...makes no sense.
