  1. i don't think i'd want to miss a minute of what goes on around here. i don't expect to agree with or like all of what i read here...sometimes the most offensive posts are the funniest!

    and besides,

Personally, I dont understand this 'IGNORE' thing.

Wouldnt you get confused if you are missing posts in a thread? How could you possibly understand why people are responding to 'said' person in the way they are? How would you comprehend what the fack is going on? How could you respond?

No one says you have to read what people write. I guess if you want to censor yourself from others, go for it.

  2. thank you everyone who came out last night, and big thanks to rose garland, organic groove, and my mouse family for a stellar evening! it was very cool to begin to put faces to names, i look forward to chatham and another chance to get down with some fine folks...and welcome back bokonon! hope it's for a while!

and cheers to the universe for providing the Random Moment of the Week...

A moment I won't forget ... just before we started playing Won't Get Fooled Again, a bus load of "cougars" shows up at the bar - they were on a pub crawl and we were one of the stops on their circuit. I hit the opening notes of Won't Get Fooled Again, look up, and the dance floor is suddenly filled with women rockin' away! It couldn't have been planned any better.
  3. i went to the casino page and had to scroll through the list of coming attractions. after seeing ads for toto, bjorn again, reba macentyre, joan rivers, and glenn frey i couldn't take it. i think just being in that place would give me the willies. niffermouse and i have been to one casino in our lives, and it was way too weird and sad. your mileage may vary.

  4. Every minute of the freakin' day gives me that feeling!

Getting out of bed in the morning makes me want to cry...

BUT - let that feeling be your motivator to make changes in your life. I'm working on it and it feels great. I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and am a step closer, everyday, to being successfully self-employed.

    Keep your chins up!

well that about says it. most of the guys in harvard mouse and families are seriously contemplating how we could escape to the interior of bc and pool our resources and actually dictate the conditions of our own labour :)

  5. I noticed that not everything I type gets posted, but when I go to edit and add what is missing everything I originally wrote is there (even in the preview) until I post again,I did this in the seal thread and had to add ..... in front of the sentence to have it appear.

Other then that I haven't had an issue.

what he said, same problem. i can see the whole of my post in edit mode, it doesn't show in preview or in final post mode.

otherwise very cool new look! way to go bouche!

  6. hmmmm...me and niffermouse have been battling this addiction for the last 4 years. prior to that we were happy smokers, but we've come to see the evil of our ways, and where our smoke money goes. it's hard enough to give this evil habit up as one person, but harder still to keep two on the path.

some awesome and inspiring stories from reformed smokers on this topic, thank you. you've all kept me from going outside and bumming a smoke from a coworker :)

  7. Omigod, Dubya listens to Blackie and the Rodeo Kings? How precisely are they supposed to live that one down?

if it's any comfort, he likely has no idea who they are. it's sort of like when Faux News asked W what papers he read. He claimed to be a very busy man (what with all the jogging) and didn't actually read the paper, but had aides read it and give him the gist of it. i expect that it's a similar battch of aides that fill his Ipod.

i would be very happy to read a further story about how shrubya's ipod was full of illegally downloaded music. what the hell, let's start the rumour now! pass it on!

  8. wow, looks like this friday's a busy one all round! the fatties in hamilton, bnb in london (i think i've got that right...) and two count'em two ripping jamming bands at the Lanc! and for those of you concerned with aging, we have a special treat...come see a bunch of guys turn *gasp * 40!!

look forward to seeing everyone there....

  9. his wife seems to be taking it all in stride.

"It's expensive, but worth every penny. I'd like to have several explosions. He loved explosions."

I saw hst quoted recently on death and dying, he said something to the effect of why bother turning in a healthy corpse at he end? beat it like a rental car, and come skidding sideways on two wheels into the grave...he didn't mention being shot out of a canyon, i guess he put that into his will later in life.

i hope that he gets blowed up reeeaaal goood :)

  10. yeah i watched this a little last night as well, not as good as the original if my memory serves me right, usually doesnt ;) but it sure beats american idol or any of the other hundreds of crapass shows on the tube nowadays

..and where was the scarf? niffermouse and i watched it (tape delay) last night and pretty much thoroughly enjoyed it. it's a rare thing to be truly entertained by broadcast tv (simpsons & futurama aside)

  11. when i first found out about bittorrent i was totally amazed by it. functional, fast, and freaky. as it's emerged into popular awareness, i'm just waiting for the BT world to become as polluted as kazaa.

i read recently that BT accounted for 1/3 of all internet traffic.

    holey!

does anyone else worry that it works through Internet Exploiter? I've always wondered how long it would take for a wiry hacker to figure out a way of compromising bittorrenting computers...
