  1. The Finger Lakes show was awesome, and I'm liking the new album a lot. Back on a Phish kick for the first time in a couple years. Also the Finger Lakes are pretty cool. Things I recommend: - Angry Mom Records in Ithaca - Barton Hall photo op in Ithaca - Getting fingered in a lake - Bob's BBQ in Homer, NY - Winery and brewery hopping along Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake - Dano's Heuriger on Seneca (restaurant) - Watkins Glen State Park - beautiful, easy, short hike along the inside of a gorge.
  2. Anyone have any suggestions on fun things to do, things to see, places to eat in the Finger Lakes area?
  3. I'm not going to be making it this year.
  4. Sounds like a good double whammy.
  5. How was this show? Did they do any Beach Boys?

  7. http://exclaim.ca/News/constantines_to_perform_surprise_show_in_guelph_on_friday Over the next two nights (June 5 and 6), Guelph's Kazoo! concert series (and annual festival) will be celebrating its eighth anniversary with a pair of shows. The Friday night bill promised that a "surprise guest" would be announced, and now this secret performer been revealed: reunited Canuck rockers Constantines. The news was confirmed on the June 5 episode of Vish Khanna's Kreative Kontrol podcast (episode number 106, featuring Kazoo!'s Brad McInerney and Mike Deane). In the final moments of the podcast, we hear a conversation involving Khanna and the Constantines. In the goofy skit, Khanna overhears the band practising, and when he asks what they're doing, the guys respond, "We're just getting ready for the show in Guelph on Friday." They act aloof, but further questioning reveals that they will indeed be playing at James Gordon Outreach HQ at 32 Essex St. in Guelph. The podcast can be heard here (the Constantines comes on just after the 1:03:30 mark). Learn more about these anniversary shows on Facebook. Other performers include Esther Grey, From a Shadowy Planet, and Start Something. Tickets are $22.50 (including taxes and charges) and can be purchased at TicketBreak.
  8. Get 'em all together for one big fat jam, I say.
  9. Thanks! They've added Blue Rodeo to the list as well.
  10. They need to spice things up a bit.. A lot of repeats. Five bucks says they will add Rocco Deluca and Emmylou Harris to the fold.
  11. I'd love to make it to this. Been meaning to for years. It is the same weekend as sweet sweet Supercrawl though in the Hammer which is pretty much the best.
  12. Club series is announced... http://torontourbanrootsfest.com/club-series/
  13. I usually end up skipping the whole thing anyways due to ticket prices. BUT I hope to check out one of the above gigs. Where are you catching Beck on your bday? Montreal?

  15. I caught this band for the first time on Tuesday night at The Piston in Toronto and really enjoyed the tunes. Can't go wrong with 3/4 of GTB up on the stage! I picked up the LP on vinyl, err got the record made out of vinyl. Michael Feurstack (sp) opened too, twas delightful.
