  2. This just in... http://www.harvestpicnic.ca/info/press-releases/164-press-release-august-20-2013.html [color:purple]Harrison Kennedy Joins the Picnic!!
  3. Lanois does have high friends in places..
  4. Oh yeah it's working now. I've tried to post mixes to Soundcloud before and got kyboshed due to copywrited material. I even took the step of making the mix into one big hour long MP3 and then posting but still got the kybosh. What's up with that?
  5. You have to think that there is going to be a refund option, given how expensive the ticket was. And for sure you have to think that they're aiming to announce some new acts to try to retain ticket holders. Lenny or Lightfoot are good calls. Who else would folks like to see added to the bill? Is the Blade in?? No sign of the Blade as far as I can tell. I think he's busy touring with Wayne Shorter. I'd be surprised (and super psyched of course) if Neil agreed to play solo or even a formal set with Pegi. Neil always does things the way he wants to. Maybe an unannounced sit-in though.
  6. I'm very curious to see their next move. The website says they will make an announcement this morning so we'll see. Major bummer about Neil!
  7. That was smooth! Got four for Rochester.
  8. Because I was mad at PTBM from Toronto, I didn't know the show I want to go to is GA, and I am generally not on the ball on this one. :dazed:
  9. Major bummer about the "farewell" part of your post. Wish I could make it. I have fond and blurry memories of absolutely blazin' Spades shows in the 2003-ish days. Yikes, that's 10 years ago. I want to hear that Dave Tough record.
  10. Hmm. But did Glens Falls Civic Center host the two-month finals of the American Bowling Congress tournament in both 1956 and 1966? Nope. Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial in Rochester did.
  11. Does anyone know if there will be a pre-sale of some kind (besides PTBM) for the Rochester show?
  12. An interesting look at some of Toronto's failed festivals.. http://www.thegridto.com/culture/music/the-fest-of-times-the-worst-of-times/

  14. There are 5-10 on the list that I'd like to see, to varying degrees. Hey, it's free ain't it! Better lineup than Earthsong ever had.
  15. Pretty sweet lineup this year.. I can't find a list that I can paste, but you can see it here: http://www.supercrawl.ca/supercrawl/music/ BA Johnston is playing the Friday night after party at This Ain't Hollywood. Not sure who is playing there on the Saturday night. Also, Tom Wilson posted on his Twitter that Amy Helm will be sitting in with Lee Harvey Osmond.

  18. http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/music/2013/07/19/toronto_approves_music_city_alliance_with_austin.html Toronto approves 'music city alliance' with Austin Toronto endorses twinship with ‘Live Music Capital of the World’ By: Ben Rayner Pop Music Critic, Published on Fri Jul 19 2013 Toronto City Council has voted unanimously to endorse a proposed musical twinship with “Live Music Capital of the World†Austin, Tex., aimed at further nurturing Toronto’s thriving music scene as a tourism draw and an engine of economic growth. Austin City Council — well aware of the benefits that come from the music industry since hundreds of thousands of people visit the city each year for such festivals as South by Southwest and Austin City Limits — did the same on June 27, agreeing to formally establish a “Music City Alliance†with Toronto. The next step is coming up with the “framework and terms of references†for the alliance. “This alliance is the first of its kind in the world,†Graham Henderson, president of the industry lobby group Music Canada, said in a statement. “We want to thank the mayors and councillors from Toronto and Austin for recognizing the important role music plays in creating jobs, attracting investment and talent, and enhancing quality of life.†Music Canada, which unveiled a music-marketing campaign under the slogan “4479 Toronto: Music meets world†on June 13, and its supporters within the local music community also hope to see the establishment within a few months of a Toronto “music office†comparable to the local film office we’ve had for 25 years and a “music advisory board†at city hall. “It is great news for Toronto and especially our music community that city hall is formalizing an alliance with Austin, the epicentre of music in the U.S.,†said Jeffrey Remedios, co-founder of local indie label Arts and Crafts, in the same Music Canada statement. “We’ve all been going to Austin for years now and have witnessed the city’s exponential growth, driven by music and fuelled by a supportive city government. I’m excited for what this could mean for Toronto.â€
  19. Guess who's NOT doing Phish Tickets By Mail for this run.
  20. I went to SappyFest last year and, though there was no secret surprise set, it was one of the very best festival experiences of me life. That Hillside surprise sounds like a blast!

  22. Ticket prices have really gone up on StubHub eh? The cheapest I'm seeing now is $39 for a lawn ticket.
