i know im in the minority here, but i kinda like when phil sings, mind you, not every song, but i dig it

Forgive me, but I don't know what would make for a better Phil lineup, this:
w/ Treyor this:
Phil lost his voice -
Cindy Klassen - Bronze. Niiiiiice.
Edit to add: And a silver, too!

Damn, son. Help->Slip->Franklin's, with a Cripple Creek and a beautiful Dylan tune taboot? Lookin' good. Thanks for the updates.

That was great to see. Nary a dry eye in the house say for the cat. Anyone hear the announcer say Jenn was from the US when they invited her up to the podium! That reaction was truly Canadian.
I thought that was hilarious. The CBC announcers completely missed it, but her face was priceless. They did correct it immediately, though.
Edit to add: I also dug how she hopped the boards in true Canadian fashion to hug her coach. Great shift, Jen!

Nice goin', Jennifer Heil!
(Personally, I think it's all in her choice of ski brand, but that's just me).
Wicked good to start off with a gold on day one. Here's hoping there are at least 20 more medals to come.

Happy day, yo!

Damn. Even though I wanted to go, I had been pretty set on missing this Bonnaroo until this horsesh!t was announced. Damn you, Trey, Les and Stewart for complicating my life.

FYI for anyone who's still around and thinking of going:
I just called Zaphod's, and they told me that Evan Dando is going on at ten and playing a one-hour set. (Funnily enough, this now has me leaning more towards going, as I can't have a late one tonight).
Also, I just checked out the setlist from Montreal, and it seems to be quite the "Greatest Hits" type of package. Here are the songs he played, by album (lifted off an Evan Dando board I found):
Lick album:
Come Back DA
Lovey album:
Half the time
Ride with me
Stove
It's a Shame album:
Confetti
It's a shame...
Rudderless
My drug buddy
Turnpike down
Alison's starting to happen
Hannah & Gabi
Frank Mills
Come On Feel...:
Into your arms
Down about it
Being around
Car Button Cloth album:
Outdoor type
Hospital
Baby I'm bored album:
My Idea
The same things you thought...
All my life
Why do you do this to yourself
He also did Frying Pan, 2 new songs and finished with a Ben Lee song (don't know the title though).

Looks like it'll be a good show - I'm now looking forward.
Peace,
Hart

*bump*
Am I gonna see anyone else there tonight?
I think I might check this out. I was unsure, but after reading in the XPress article that he'll be playing some vintage Lemonheads, I'm thinkin' it'll be a good night.
A buddy of mine put together a compilation of some of his solo acoustic stuff, and it's great - including a cover of Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know?", although I'm betting we won't be hearing that one.

Bring Arcade Fire back to Hillside!!!
I am certainly not "in the know" with regards to Hillside, but I feel as though, with the kind of year they've had, Arcade Fire might have outgrown it.

So not too long ago I heard this song on the radio..."devils and dust" I thought hmmm I like this song. tried to figure out who it was. couldn't - had no idea nor would I ever have thunk it woulda been springsteen
Indeed, after his first couple of albums he was consistenely being billed as "the next Bob Dylan," which caused him much frustration and lead him to a bigger, fuller sound with the E Street Band. He's returned to his roots a few times in his career (namely on the Nebraska and Devils and Dust albums) and it sounds oh so sweet when he does.
I thought his "Bring 'em home" line was perfect: it wasn't over-the-top and emotional, nor was it in the form of a clumsy acceptance speech. He made his point matter of factly and then walked away - it was awesome.

One of my college buddies was a huge fan, especially of Evan Dando's acoustic stuff, and got me hooked. I'm not sure if I'll be at the show Friday (I might be at Ember Swift instead), but I'll always dig The Lemonheads.
Half past nine
Quarter to ten
Ten fifteen
And I'm coming around again

Sweet. In addition to Everyone Orchestra, I've heard great things about U-Melt, and Chuch puts on one kick-ass countrified rock and roll show.
-
One bump, for the daytime crowd.

I'm starting to think there should be a YouTube.com topic now too.
check out I Bid You Goodnight
Wow. That was soul-stirring.

If your Uncle Ricky is heading down there with his childhood friend Julian and sneaking in through a manhole cover to sell dope, I don't count him as a good authority.

Will anyone be taping?
Aloha,
mooose
I will. Strangely enough, Inglewood Jack is a very taper-friendly band...Whoa...bradm taping Inglewood Jack? Consider my mind blown.

I am sitting at my desk right now, my feet wet from the puddles of tears my desk has cried after reading your slander.
-
Here are some shots (incidentally, I had no idea how easy it was to host images on ImageShack).
-
Noice. I'd be willing to bet that he ends up at Babylon after the show.
-
I'll see what I can find and try and post one later on. I'm not at home right now, but I might have something on my laptop. Stay tuned.

I'll bump 'er just the once.

I would bet large amounts of money that you'll be OK until at least the 28th. I don't recall it ever selling out in less than a month, so I'm sure you'll be fine.
