  1. Pretty sure this one sold out like the second it went on sale!
  2. not that zero needs my defense, but regardless... it's not like he's the first guy to ever cut on someone's music and/or that music's followers. maybe he's got a way with the words that rubs you the wrong way Kev, but to insinuate he loves jazz less because he's not out there knocking on doors trying to get people signed up to the good stuff is kinda unfair. whatever. i love rock'n'roll, but if you were to tell me Nickelback kicks ass, i'm going to make fun of you.
  3. if that's the case, pick on him for calling her 'white-ass' then.
  4. jesus, you can't even note a person as Jewish these days without being labeled an anti-semite.
  5. strange tour detour as they're playing in Texas a couple days before, and Louisiana a day later.

Go see Yo la Tengo at the Commodore, i'll see them at the Opera House and we'll compare notes on the crowds. Toronto hipsters are the worst!

  8. hah backbacon's the best dj ever. he sure can! no requests allowed.
  9. whatever you do, if they request that butterfly kisses bullshit, pack up your stuff and roll out!
  10. allison krauss kinda borders on the new country a little bit i think KK... there's this one garth brooks song that brought tears to my eyes one time... good times. i'll try to remember the name of it for you. if the mom's requesting it, i'd think it'd be somewhat safe to slide some old country in there... but i'll get pk to come up with some ideas for you. she's all over that stuff.
  11. My wife leaves Thursday. Meet me on Friday! Haha giddy up! Here's one... she has a sweet voice: Jenny Lewis http://www.myspace.com/jennylewismusic
  12. I just saw them in Michigan at the Royal Oak Music Theatre and it was a sold out show. Massey Hall's a bit bigger, but i think it's a safe bet it'll sell out too.
  13. The Deep Dark Woods http://www.myspace.com/deepdarkwoods
  14. Jus' sayin'. I recommended Wellsy's band above... saw them at the nest a few weeks back and thought they were pretty AOK. Other than that, i found this guy on myspace and i've been liking him... but absolutely no idea how long he's been in existence. Tiresias and the Blind Prophets http://www.myspace.com/tiresiasmusic And, not entirely new, but still a suggestion: The Felice Brothers http://www.myspace.com/thefelicebrothers Probably not needing recommendation, but i'm super pumped about their formation: Monsters of Folk http://www.myspace.com/monstersoffolk Saw these guys in Hamilton a couple of weeks ago and thought they were pretty great: The Cavaliers! http://www.myspace.com/thecavaliersmusic
  15. Is this about new bands? BRMC has been around for about a decade or so.
  16. 1/2 Chathamites - Buckets Of A little bit country, a little bit punk http://www.myspace.com/bucketsof
  17. ha - dude's 80% of the reason i like this band so much. i kinda liked that they didn't background his awesomeness.
  18. He's living proof that beeyotch Sarah Palin was dead wrong when she scoffed at Joe Biden for thinking you could be diplomatic without sending an army in the first place. Good job Bill!
  19. I tried not going through itunes myself and it was a no go. But i'm streaming Ramblin' Jack Elliott right now. Thanks!
