Eight members of this brass & percussion band are sons of the late great jazz trumpeter Phil Cohran, formerly of Sun Ra Arkestra and a founder of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. The members have been immersed in this culture and playing together their entire lives; combining the AACM's collective approach with a contemporary hip-hop vibe that speaks to its own generation, resulting in one of the most compelling live music experiences of our time. Hypnotic Brass has performed with Erykah Badu, Maxwell, Mos Def and Jay Z. Albums such as "Session One" (2000), "Something Wicked This Way Comes" (2002) and "Take London" (2005) established Herbaliser Band as a gold standard for DJ/live band collaborations. Vocalists on these albums included Jean Grae, Blade, Roots Manuva, Phi Life Cypher, and Canada's own More or Les. 2008's "Same As It Never Was" is being hailed as the most visionary fusion yet of the Herbaliser duo's legendary production with the Easy Access Orchestra musicianship. It also showcases stunning young U.K. vocalist Jessica Darling and Canada's own More or Les, the multi-talented DJ, MC, and Toronto hip-hop scene-maker (In Divine Styles, Never Forgive Action, Hip Hop Karaoke) who will MC the night and perform with the Herbaliser Band. with special guest MC More or Les www.moreorles.ca www.myspace.com/moreorles Grand Analog www.grandanolog.com www.myspace.com/grandanalog Only a year old, Grand Analog has already rocked festivals such as South by Southwest, Western Canadian Music Festival, JunoFest and The Toronto Jazz Festival. Fronted by magnetically charismatic MC Odario Williams, the band's sound is a beautiful mess of rap'n'roll dub and soul; a hip hop slop shop of times good and bad. www.myspace.com/cashrollin Rollin' Cash's (Hotpie Records) dubfunk sounds have been a staple of Toronto's conscious party scene for over 10 years; he currently has a residency at the Drake Hotel, Riddim Sundays. 10. I'm dusting of my dancing shorts right now for this one.. [color:blue]"TC ready the chopper!"
  11. Micheal McDonald is a smooth rock god! A man so smooth he makes Magum bow down to his macho! Rick and I flew in from Maui to see Micheal McDonald (aka Big Poppa) at Art Park in Lewiston N.Y. Killer show and a band as tight as my short shorts. And he still makes the ladies tremble with his bravado. Total pimp. Glad to see he is supporting the Dems! Micheal McDonald forever!
  12. Rick tells me that TC taped the show on his sony sports Walkman and soon it will be available for download it high quality.
  13. Is there a dress code against short shorts?? Me and Bob Wier wanna come but as you know we don't wear shorts any longer than mid thigh!
  14. ME and the gang at the Robin's nest are obviously thrilled. Now if the could just add Jimmy Buffett doing a live P.A. we'd be in business!
  15. the Towne Ballroom is a killer set up with mulitple bars, levels, sunken dancefloor and wicked sight lines.
  16. Is there a dress code at this place? I intend on wearing shorts so short they would make Bob Wier blush.
  17. I-pods are evil and are the tools of the devil!
  18. Given the weather, I think I'm gonna convince the band to open with "Cold Rain & Snow".
  19. The festival pass is a nice touch. I wish more festivals did this.... Aloha!
  20. Cool. Lots of fun. Now if I could just get someone to pay me $100,000,000 per show I'd be Tiesto. Ooops. Sorry I'm wrong Tiesto dosen't even do this much.
  21. What do y'all think? Obama has charged ahead of Hillary in the Iowa caucus. Do you think it means anything significant and do you think he has a real chance now?
