  1. Right now tickets are $129 and camping tickets are $35 (prices are U.S. which means about 3 gazillion demirits in current Cdn funds). It's an Allman Brothers festival, whatever the lineup is, it won't be crap. A very good friend assures me, this is the best festival, and is like Disneyland for music lovers.
  2. Getting baked on the ABB tour bus after a show, that's about as Rock and Roll as it gets. :hail:
  3. Hamilton, isn't that the place where their CFL team, won't even play in their own city? No seriously though, my wife asked me the other day to kiss her in that dirty place.... so I took her to Hamilton and kissed her cheek. just jokin', I have lots of love for Hamilton... kinda
  4. My radar is starting to focus in on The Peach Music Fest http://www.thepeachmusicfestival.com/ Anybody ever been? The fact that there is a water park is a huge plus for the kids.
  5. My guess, they're in rehersals for the Beacon, Greg is being a cranky old drunk saying shit like "this is my fucking band and we're gonna do it my way" and Warren and Derek are going "fuck you you 2 note singin old kook, we know what the fuck we're doing and it ain't with you no mo." I mean, I'm usually wrong about stuff and if I don't know shit, I just make it up but I think it's a pretty good guess. That and the zac brown thing.
  6. ohh, I just saw the age requirement, Ricky is WAY too old
  7. I've heard that Ricky Neu knows how to whistle and play congas at the same time.
  8. hmm, it's not like being a part of the Allman Brothers really takes up too much of anybodies time over the last few years. I highly doubt the ABB were ever really planning on touring again in any substantial manner. Something strange going on here but I'm sure it's none of our business. Best of luck to them, I'm sure they will land on their feet being that they are two of the baddest guitar players alive. I'd think this is the end for ABB, can't see Greg trying to start fresh with new guitar players at this point, but you never know. It wouldn't be as good though, there are only so many "best guitar player in the world" type folks out there, let alone two of them at one time.
  9. who knows? It rained a lot last year and that ruined a good chunk of the festival (cancelled/delayed sets, bad sound) There's nothing anybody can do about that I guess but maybe because the site acts like a fish bowl in heavy rain? (Fruition were standing in about a foot of water, on the stage before they were send off the stage). There were other logistics things about that site that weren't very good for really large crowds. Personally, we were done with it. It's not really kid friendly and it was hard enough with one let alone a second kid. Something about fireworks going off and loud bands on the mainstage at 2:00 make it a bit hard for the young'uns.
  10. They were looking for a new venue. I guess they didn't find one.
  11. awesome Jay, The run has been fantastic so far (to my ears)! Happy New Year
  12. I put the show on last night once it became available on the Phish App. They sounded pretty swell to me. No big surprises, played songs that they had been playing on the fall run. I was mostly just listening to it in the background, as I was tinkering with my steam powered time machine, but Monica really grabbed my attention. Maybe because the newness of it made it stand out against the staples but it made me shake my ass for a few minutes so that's a good thing. Hoping for some surprises as the run continues. I think a Harpua is due.
  13. oh... The P stamps are going up to $1.00. That's a piss off. The whole point of the "P" stamp was so they would always be good, no matter what you paid for them. facking joke. I though when people don't use your service, in a capitalist system, you're supposed to lower your prices to get your product to the price point people are willing to pay for your service? I guess in the Canadian bizzarro capitalist world raising your prices draws in more customers??
  14. I'm sure they will still be delivering flyers into your community box. I've been on the community mailbox / RR system for about 6 years now, they still stuff it with flyers. It's one of their sources of income so I imagine it will continue. While the announcement doesn't really change anything for me for how I get my mail, it's not a very nice thing to do to disabled people and elderly. Hopefully they can do something for people that would be unable to pick up their mail at a community box. On a different note, I was in the post office today to pick up a package and for some reason they were told from their head office to pull all their "P" stamps so they weren't selling any. Not sure what that was all about.
  15. I'm hearing there's a special guest guitarist guy that used to play in some band, playing with the Fatties. Mike something from BNB or something like that
  16. what the fuck is a sub genre? IS that like thrash grass being a sub genre of bluegrass?
  17. Nothing beats flipping through records but you know what it's like living up north here, NW, not always possible to do that. There is a guy out of Goderich that sells at flea markets and drops crates off at a couple local buisnesses, that I've got a lot of records from. The guy in St. Lawrence Market is very good also. If I am looking for something very specific though or just looking for something a little more rare (ie. Dead bootlegs) then ebay is the way to go. DevO, you're in Hamilton right? Make sure to check out James Lloyd's store, Where Heads Meet. He usually has some pretty tasty stuff upstairs in the main shop and he has a ton of used records in the basement. Tell him I sent ya if he's there (Chris Wylde).
  18. Nothing exotic, ebay has usually worked fine for me for getting used records online.
  19. The Devil Makes Three - I'm A Stranger Here The Del McCoury Band - Streets of Baltimore Fruition - Just One of Them Nights Kurt Vile - Walking on a Pretty Daze Rumpke Mountain Boys - Moon The Wood Brothers - Muse

    Sugru

This shit is wicked. www.sugru.com You can find all sorts of projects here: www.instructables.com I'm kind of cheap so I've been making my own by mixing 1 part clear silicone with 1 part corn starch (aprox.)and food colouring and a little touch of water. It's a little messier and stickier that way, than buying the product, but it works. One of my pet peaves with iphones is not being able to attach it to a tripod. So, I just found a nut that would screw onto my goby tripod, took an ipod case I didn't really like, attached the nut to the side of it using my homemade sugru and voila, a tripod holder for my iphone.
