  1. Joni Mitchell sure isn't plagiarizing. Those fucked up tunings and chords she uses are so unique they're completely inaccessible - to my ears anyways. I shouldn't sound like I'm disrespecting her, I just can't get into her at all ... And, yeah, in cahoots with everyone above, folk music is all about plagarizing. Steal a lyric, steal a melody, steal a whole song and write two new verses ...
  2. I'm going to be selling mine in a week or so ... Honda Civic 2005, 150km on it. Will probably go the kijiji route cause it's free (and ridiculously popular in Kingston) ... The answer to this question might also be helpful to YATS, but what is the process for transferring ownership?
  3. every word of it true. A lot of people however will write it off, just because hippie bands are lame, but they aren't poor.
  4. Mine was 'Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever' - performed by Kingston legends Bloom and based on The Band's version. Our second choice was "I've Been Loving You Too Long" by Otis Redding, until we looked closer at the lyrics and realized it's kind of about an affair.
  5. You'd be shit-faced before you even ordered your first drink

Oh Wedge ... always drinking and flying.
  7. I fuckin love the Golden Dogs ... one of the best bands in the country by a long shot. I wish I was at this.
  8. I'm no scientician, but in my experience, 100% of the world's parents have children.
  9. goddammit i hate his website. Even more so without an Ontario solo date.
  10. lawns for saturday SPAC ... some will seems to drive against the hope of me being up close at a phish concert
  11. "Let's have one last fling before that dinosaur eats us"
  12. Great show ... though as much as I love The Weight, I've heard at least a dozen collaborative versions and it's a wee bit tiresome. I was Toussaint would have helped out on Ophelia or something, but maybe it's best without Levon's vocals.
  13. I kinda like the line up actually, except Collective Soul. I always hated that band ... they were to rock in the 90s what Nickelback was to rock in the 00s. Except Collective Soul's misogyny was considerably less obvious.
  14. Would love to see another Caution Jam show in Kingston ...
  15. pretty standard fare really, as far as hippie festivals go. I wonder how badly that would tank north of the border ...
  16. Requests in for Canadaigua - I will learn how to spell it by the time I get my 4 tix
  17. I believe Hartford was on Ticketmotherfuckers today, but I can't find it.

  20. All of these archaic liquor laws stem directly from Prohibition. When Ontario became 'wet' again, bars couldn't even have a sign out front or a window for common folk to see the sins of the tavern. Patrons weren't allowed to stand up with their drinks (because drinking a lot while sitting down is wise) and in fact pubs couldn't even serve food - logic being that drunkards would eventually get hungry and go home and be with their loving families. Genders were segregated, food actually became mandatory WITH a drink (not just in the same establishment), home brewing and brew pubs were completely forbidden ... we've come a long way! Now most of that has been done away with, but being drunk in a place that serves beverages that make you drunk is against the law (which to me is as logical as not being allowed to get in shape at a gym). I know a lot of people that can drink me under the table and come across looking reasonably sober ...
  21. My 10 year old was surprised that the Jonas Brothers 3D movie wasn't nominated.
