  1. I don't think the death is confirmed. The link you posted still says coma, along with most of the other news stories I found ... many folks on Twitter are saying 'not dead yet' also.
  2. I scanned through the first 10 sections or so ... pretty interesting but too much computer reading for my liking.
  3. Cardiac arrest at 32? Musta been quite the snow storm ...
  4. That's pretty awesome. It works, in a sadly ironic sort of way.
  5. This one may be worth the short road trip, playing at the CBC's Glenn Gould Studio
  6. I agree with you about the 'The' It's annoying.
  7. What a great website. Thanks zero.
  8. I have a cousins in Wawa, their middle-aged boy is Autistic. He has wondered off into the woods at night too ... when the whole house was locked from the inside. He was determined to get out, and very little can stop him - he found the keys and decided he was going. Fortunately it was in much warmer weather and he was found quickly. You can't keep any kid under constant supervision ... ever.
  9. Come find me and say hi! I'll be delivering the catering and beer before the show, then working the door
  10. I assume boochesistah will be there ... anyone else?
  11. Oh ... and preferably someone familiar with Midtown.
  12. Hey folks, Anyone have any good experience with a Toronto real estate agent? I need to send a referral and am hoping to find someone who will list for less than 5%. Feel free to post here or email to chris@realtysource.com

    AC/DC Bag

I'm not a complainer about Phish ... very rarely apart from a small selections of songs I don't care for. Just pointing out a fact. For complaints, see PT.
  14. I was at the Toucan last night for a bit and I think i saw your set and I liked it. ok I know that I liked it, I'm just not sure if it was Huron. Was there anyone else on the bill other than Blurton?

    AC/DC Bag

It's been the opener at 4 shows this fall, plus 2nd set on the last night of 8. That's all I have to say about that.
  16. This Sunday, Gord Beech and I will be performing an acoustic tribute to Phish! Gord on guitar and vocals, me on guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and vocals. Come down if you're in the area - it's free! We're also having a draw to win 3 pairs of tickets to The Trews acoustic show this Wednesday at Sydenham Street United Church here in Kingston.

  19. Have you tried highlighting the text and copying it to Word?
  20. Kudos also to a great link. Lawrence Hill's The Book of Negroes shines some excellent light on blacks in Nova Scotia ... and, yes, it's as good a book as everyone says it is. His Any Known Blood also has some black history of Oakville (and Toronto/Southern Ontario to a lesser extent)
  21. Our border guard was hilarious BG: Where are you going? Us: Albany - Phish concert BG: Any alcohol, tobacco or drugs? Us: Nope BG: You're going to Phish a concert and none of you have alcohol, tobacco, or drugs? Us: We're goin to by drinks when we get there, we don't smoke, and we're past using drugs BG: Have fun
  22. It was amazing. The first set was incredibly high energy, not slowing down until Joy, with many a nice treat including Walk Away, Sanity, and Vultures. The second set, oh my goodness, what a set it was. Seven Below was a great opener that seemed like it was never going to end - there were so many different movements and feelings and changes. Ghost was quite similar, just with a funky egde. 45 minutes between the two of them. Jibboo, Wolfman's and Julius all had great tight jams, again with a tonne of energy. I know Let Me Lie isn't hugely popular, but it fit in perfectly in the second set for a much needed breather. After the insanity of that set, I don't think anyone could have predicted a YEM encore. The instrumental section was tight and pretty flawless IIRC, and the post-tramps segment had night short solos from everyone. The vocal jam was madness. Scary, funny, eerie, apocalyptic even? I was in a fit of delighted rage throughout, though a couple of relative Phish-newbies taht I was with were actually kind of unimpressed. Overall, I rate is as my favourite Phish show out of 7 - highly recommended as a download if you haven't already (with props to Alpha for the link)
  23. It was Jimi's birthday yesterday
