  1. Alaska is indeed a great song ... isn't from Trey solo though?
  2. What's your favourite? They seem to be playing a lot of Ocelot, which I'm not too crazy about, but I think Joy may be a new favourite ballad ...
  3. Ale House (ex-AJs Hangar) is a shitty venue. There's a few great seats/standing areas, but it's poorly designed for live music and usually sounds like shit - though when I saw the Constantines there a few months ago it sounded better than it used to.
  4. Incidentally - www.facebook.com/beard0 i'm rad as fuck.
  5. I'm playing an afternoon show at the Lake's End Tradin Company - details here: http://tinyurl.com/r3m646
  6. I've never been there, but I'm bummed Pepper Jack's is closing ... always a drag to lose a live music venue.
  7. A lot of the studio versions of the songs on Undermind were "ok" on the record, but totally killed live ... so I'd expect a lot of these will do the same thing. As for the lyrics ... I don't expect much from them, so I'm rarely disappointed
  8. I guess you'd expect to catch the crew rhymin'
  9. I'll trade you SPACs for Dariens ??
  10. Tiger the Lion as an encore? I would never have called that ... too bad they aren't playing more from World Container (Kids Don't Get It in particular) ... I love that album, though I got nothin against the new one!
  11. Your best bets in Kingston right now are either BarNone or The Mansion. If you've got a solid 100+ draw, The Grad Club is fine, but otherwise you're paying for a PA, etc. If you don't have luck with those, you can the The Merchant Taphouse. The Toucan rarely books live music anymore.

    Good Job IKEA

bah ... buy local. And buy stuff that doesn't fall apart.
  13. Sunrise is near the corner of Sydenham actually ... but yeah. Turks and Chumleighs are really good for used CDs too.
  14. except Brian knows exactly where EVERYTHING is ... Zap Records is good too just down the street.
  15. Former Kingstonians may recall the old Sweet Folk All nights on Sundays at the Wellington. It still exists, though it's been running on alternating Sundays at the RCHA Club on Ontario Street. Starting this Sunday, I'm filling in the other Sundays with my own folky open stage ... feel free to stop in if you're passing through town! http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/group.php?gid=66472132957&ref=mf
  16. Nice setlist ... very similar to the one he was doing last fall, though 13 thru 17 weren't in the list, save for #16. Oh, and the encore.
  17. Bill Murray = Bill Kreutzmann
  18. Vreeken is still doing sound for the Hip, as far as I know. I remember that insert ... I had the full size poster on my wall for years.
