  11. Here's some photos of the venue; it's a great space for music, certainly with a checkered history. Although it not necessarily the best room in the world, i think it has a great sound system... much better than Sneaky Dees, Horseshoe, Revival, Rancho Relaxo, Gypsy Co-op and Phoneix.

  16. www.nufunk.ca presents: JULIE DOIRON CROSS CANADA AUTUMN TOUR 2006 WITH SHOTGUN & JAYBIRD (CD RELEASE PARTY) & WOOLLY LEAVES (Will Kidman of Constantines) WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8th EL MOCAMBO www.elmocambo.ca $12 Advance (SS, RT & Ticketweb) Onsale Oct 18 Juno award winning indie rock chanteuse Julie Doiron is headed out on an autumnal cross country tour warming hearts just as the cold sets in. Backed by her Sackville, New Brunswick bandmates Shotgun & Jaybird, Julie's performances have transformed into a slightly scrappier rock affair. Previewing songs from her forthcoming 2007 release, Woke Myself Up as well as selections from her extensive back catalogue the current lineup will be sure to please new and old fans alike. Julie Doiron began her career in music in 1990 at the age of 18 in Moncton, New Brunswick Canada playing bass in Eric's Trip, a folky yet psychedelic band that was to become the undisputed underground darling of Canadian Music. Eric's Trip were the first of many maritime Canadians signed to Sub Pop and found international recognition releasing several albums and touring widely. Following 1996's Purple Blue, Eric's Trip announced their breakup and Julie Doiron embarked on her solo career, first releasing songs as "Broken Girl" but then under her own name. Since then she has worked with a veritable Who's Who list of independent rock giants, including Dave Shouse (Grifters), Howe Gelb (Giant Sand) and Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie, to name a few. www.juliedoiron.com - www.myspace.com/juliedoiron - www.jagjaguwar.com - www.endearing.com Shotgun & Jaybird are a four piece rock band from Sackville New Brunswick. They have just released a Brand new record. Its called Trying To Get Somewhere and its out on Sappy Records you can buy it from them right now. Sonic Unyon will be distributing it in the next month or so, go tell your favorite stores. It was recorded at home in Sackville over the summer then sent to Toronto for Mr. Noah Mintz to master and he did a good job. It has eleven songs, thats five more than their last record (There Are Days And Then There Are Days E.P). Julie stepped out of the garden and wrote two gems. A bunch are about hearts, mostly aching or bending, some beat or long. one song is about falling on the ice, other than that its pretty much the soundtrack to your average suburban teenage summer, written in rural new brunswick by twenty-thirty somethings. www.sappyrecords.com - www.shotgunandjaybird.com - www.myspace.com/shotgunandjaybird LISTEN TO SHOTGUN & JAYBIRD HERE: http://sappyrecords.com/content/tryingmp3s/02_Two%20and%20Two%20is%20Four.mp3 Woolly Leaves is Will Kidman, currently best known to music fans as the keyboard player for one of Canada’s most beloved rock ‘n’ roll bands, The Constantines. His new record Quiet Waters proves that Kidman is the next link in the formidable lineage of Canadian songwriters. With songs that are tender and comforting, while simultaneously evoking gut-stirring emotions, Quiet Waters is more complex than it is simple, spare arrangements would suggest. http://www.outside-music.ca/artist.php?id=21 For More Information visit: www.sappyrecords.com
  17. I hate to say it... but I prefer the Slip live experience more than the 'in the studio' video recording... it seems like there's some energy missing from the performance.. however "Even Rats" is still great... I think Brad is a great singer, but it doesn't show that well here...but because it's rockin' i guess it's not that important. Any news on the track listing for Eisenhower?
