After hearing crazy sounds all morning we decided to go for a walk and figure out what it was. Turns out its a massive all-frosh predrink party down the street. We checked it out long enough to feel old and left but it was pretty hilarious, live Dj's, tons of wasted kids, insane shit all over. Check out the pics.

So I booked this week off 6 months ago thinking it was a good idea to dedicate one last week to this fleeting summer. But now that its here I find myself bored as hell and its only day 1. Fuck you all I've been drunk for 7 days MONDAY!

Hey did anyone else catch Rachid Taha last night on the Blacksheep. Sweet merciful god what a good show, This was the sleeper hit of the festival so far. Not only was his band off the hook, I can only best described as a mix of spanish/middle eastern dance rock with elements of groove and metal, especially that bass player. The crowd at points was a seething mass of energy which was amazing to see on a Wednesday night at Bluesfest. Rachid's stage presence was a show within itself, doing everything from crowd surfing, to chain smoking, to talking about drugs, love and the war He kinda reminded me of a an Arabic cross between Keith Richards and Micheal Franti, but in a much more honest way. He closed the set with his trademark Arabic version of "Rock the Casbah" and if you were earshot of this last night, you know what a magical moment it was. Thank you Rachid Taha for reminding me why I love Bluesfest, it the shit you don't know about that always ends up blowing your mind.

What I really want to know is, whats the deal with that helicopter that has been constantly flying over downtown for a week?

Julia thank you for reminding me of one of the best things Hux has ever done. One night we were getting trashed at my place on Bronson and Hux was telling people he'd get naked and run around outside if everyone voted Liberal. So we took the bet, he stripped down to his underwear and went into the hallway of my building, he then stuck his arm back in through the near shut front door with his unders in hand. I quickly grabbed his underwear, pushed his arm back and slammed and locked the door, leaving our boy trapped outside, buck naked in the hall. We left him out there for a bit and for the most part it didn't even seem to phase him. When I let him back in he didn't even attempt to put his clothes back on, just mingled around the party naked for a while. Then he decided he wanted a diaper, not just any diaper a diaper made out of duct tape and a liquor store bag. So we constructed it and he proudly wore it until the wee hours of the morning, it was fucking hilarious. And since that day I have been a card carrying member of the Liberal party. God bless eh.

Ya so I fractured my collarbone. God damn it, second day with my new bike and fuck myself up. I lost control in traffic making a fast turn in the rain, would have probably killed myself if it wasn't for the helmet. I've never worn a helmet before, until this week and now I'm a true believer. Thanks for the "vibes" guys and thank god for perscription painkillers. Here's my shoulder.
